I'm studying dentistry and this is extremely helpful for learning patients' medications which aren't taught well in school. I really appreciate your work, please keep up the great job.
Just wanted to drop a mnemonic for niacin (Vitamin B3) - B3 stands for: "Beet" red (flushing), Big toe (hyperuricemia and gout), Blubber (acts on adipocytes) - Also "NIce Try" = NIacin liberates FFA from TRYglycerides. Also shout out to Speed. This is by far the best lipid lowering video out there.
HDL = H for Healthy LDL = L for Lethal Obviously this is just to remember which lipoproteins are good for you and which ones are bad for you and H and L doesnt actually stand for Healthy and Lethal respectively
But we must know the concept that high density means it is heavier aand can flow easily in the blood i e. it's plasma soluble but low density means that it is lighter than blood and it does not dissolve in the blood doesnot move and cqnbe deposited easily
Well..I read an interesting article which claims that all this was crap of HDL being good and LDL being bad was spread by corporate companies (specially those who sell edible oils) who wanted to increase their buisness ! They claimed that their oils increased HDL and helped fight elevated cholesterol levels. Idk the real truth but that's what the article claimed🤷🏻♂️
@@ASN_405 Numerous studies PROVED that high concentrations of HDL cholesterol has benefits in decreasing cholesterol levels, which means less cholesterol deposit in arteries.

To be able to enhance the existence of my “good” cholesterol and lessen the “bad” cholesterol I have, I applied making use of this specific cholesterol guideline t.co/Vm9XwBkfhi . I am unsure if it is performed like this way. Since that time I haven’t used it so I do not have any idea if this one is beneficial. I cannot delay to have my cholesterol tested again in a few weeks. I`m hoping this could help me. Therefore I`m con.templating certainly according to what exactly I have read. .
So.. fibrates increase expression of lipoprotein lipase which act on lipoproteins such like chylomicrons or VLDL in the blood to deliver TG and cholesterol to cells that needs it. This will reduce TG and cholesterol lvl in the blood but mainly TG. But fibrates also decrease expression of apo C which decreases lipoprotein looses activity??? Isn’t that a bit counterintuitive? 🤔
I saw this video for a test today, and I did fairly good. Forgot the statin drug with 19hr half-life, and the drug interactions of Bile-binding resins though. Thank you for your hard work.

Is high intracellular cholesterol level really promoting more vLDL particles synthesis? Maybe it makes sense to have more cholesterol per particle, but why more particles? I am pretty sure that vLDL particle number is solely or primarily up regulated by the availability of fatty acids, not cholesterol.
Why would you increase FFAs inside the blood vessel wall as it shown on the slide 8:50 . Doesn't make any sense, as you wanna decrease FAs inside those cells, doing so, preventing atherosclerosis.... A lot of moments like that... not logical, probably incorrect depiction... But overall, the video is cool! Thx!
I had done my lipid profile in June last year and the reports showed a 645 mg/dl value of TG and somewhat elevated levels of cholesterol. I started taking treatment from Planet Ayurveda and those medicines worked as magic for me, I have now all the lipid profiles within normal ranges and I am doing just well.
