ERROR:
There is an error where I said "MEDIZINE" . It's actually MECLIZINE.
Also, the anti vertigo effect is due to blockade of H1 receptors in the vestibular apparatus.
MNEUMONICS:
-First generation antihistaminics: As I am from the first generation, DIP ME PROperly in CHLORine
-Second generation antihistaminics: CEFELO as in CEPHALO (related to the head), but
remember that although the mneumonic is cefelo, these drugs do not cross BBB (head) and cannot cause CNS side effects.

After watching this video i just have two doubts, why didn’t i get this before? And why this channel has so less subscribers? Content of this level deserves a lot more

In vertigo the pathophysiology involves either there is formation of hydrops in semicircular canals, formation occurs either due to increased flow or inflammation. Beta histine reduces blood flow by H3 agonism and anti H4 activity which reduces inflammation. In BPPV there is the salt crystals which dislodges and causes vertigo and resting can help it. There is a role of muscarinic receptors as well in it to cause vertigo. So the drugs commonly used are Beta histine and cinnarizine. Steroids are used as anti inflammatory. Prochlorperazine is used for acute vertigo due to multiple action on histamine and muscarinic receptors. I haven't seen use of TCA ever in vertigo.

What is the meaning of Gq ,Gs Gi ??
@mbbscracker649
@mbbscracker649 4 года назад
The G protein coupled transmembrane receptors has subclasses . Gq coupled means when this get activated it will incr IP3+DAG concentration into cells and this will further ultimately phosphorylate and modulate different enzymes or proteins. Gs when activate it will stimulate adenyl cyclase enzyme and will rise in cAMP level is blood ultimate rose of Calcium inside cell Gi when activated will inhibit adenyl cyclase and this decreases cAMP concentration inside cells and fall in Intracellular calcium will occur
