Okay, since a lot of people seem confused by whether Phasma outranks Pyre or not to issue threats, here is the answer that should clear up any and all confusion: Phasma's true rank is NOT captain, that's just the title she prefers to go by. Her true rank makes her on the same level as (if not slightly below) Hux and Kylo Ren. Those two and Snoke are the only ones in the First Order who outrank her. Everyone else in the First Order are ranked below her!
@@Reliavl he and the other members of the Supreme Council weren't inaugurated into the First Order leadership until after Kylo Ren became Supreme Leader. They were kept in the reserves at this time.

Phasma is the captain(supreme commander) of all stormtroopers it could also be a Rex situation. Captain Phasma sounds a lot better then Commander Phasma
Well in the US Navy a captain outranks a commander. I understand that this is science fiction but it seems they might go by a similar ranking structure.
I think captain in the first order is purely ceremonial, they serve more the role of general which I understand why they didn't use general phasma it doesn't have the same ring to it as captain phasma does.

People questioning why Captain Phasma is called such if Pyre doesn't outrank her. 1. Captain is a lot more catchy. It's why they settled with Captain Rex even though he's actually a Commander, but Commander Rex doesn't flow well. 2. In the Navy, Captain actually outranks Commander.
This is all wrong 1. Rex is not "actually" a commander he is a captain in season 7 he got a promotion tho but before that his rank was captain. 2. Captain phase IS a captain she can't just prefer to be called a different rank that's not how the military works no professional military would allow that as it would cause confusion in the command structure. 3. Sure they are on naval ships at this moment but that doesn't matter at all as none of them are naval higher ups they work with the main army troopers not the navy. They are just on a ship in this scene that's it 4. The real problem is shitty writing and not knowing the lore or military structure if not that then the writers just don't care
@@robertoorrego4374 Just looked it up. You're right about Rex being a captain, so that's my mistake, but Phasma is a commander, not a captain. It's stated she is the commander of the First Order Stormtroopers. Furthermore, it would make no sense as to why she's commanding the golden Stormtrooper, Pyre. Pyre is a commander, but if he's subordinate to Phasma, that must mean Phasma is a higher ranking commander. But in the end, it's really just your fourth point. Rex should in fact be a commander. You have commander Bly, commander Cody, so why is Rex a captain yet he has the power of a commander to lead the 501st alongside a general? It's because Captain Rex sounds much better and is more catchy than Commander Rex. Same deal with Phasma. Commander Phasma is a mouthful. But yeah, I don't think the writers really care about military ranking. If I recall correctly, in the Galactic Empire, Lieutenant was one of the lowest ranks for a Stormtrooper, and they're not NCOs or of the like.

Phasma is actually a General, she just chooses to be called "Captain" because it implies she fights on the frontlines rather than from the war room like a General.

Not really, all of the stormtroopers are the same, except for me and Phasma, we wear different colored armour but her armour is more unique, while i just wear a gold version of the normal stormtrooper uniform because they think im "Special"
Many troopers are getting confused of how i am not outranking the Captain, she's considered to be a General but prefers being called a Captain, just like Captain Rex, General Phasma doesn't fit since it has no point of making it catchy, that's why her name is Captain Phasma, now if you excuse me, i got some Resistance members to hunt down, even though im already dead.
One of my biggest issues with how Disney handled the First Order is that they made them the stereotypical "comic book villian". They're are too evil for the sake of being evil and severely punish subordinates for failure. Sure Darth Vader acts the same way but there are plenty of Imperial commanders who show leniency and care for their troops. It doesn't make logical sense to threaten execution of loyal soldiers. The First Order is suppose to be a streamlined more efficient version of the Empire.
Is it that hard to understand that Phasma outranks pyre but just prefers to be called captain. She clearly outranks him, look at her position on star killer base standing alongside hux while giving his speech. Hux for example is called a general but he is one of the highest ranking members of the first order alongside ren. Star wars dosent misunderstand our military ranks, it either knows exactly what it's doing, or its literally a TV show set in space that could have completely different ranks to our world's.
@@mirkodrago2392 well at least phasma actually did something other than failing to destroy a damn platform with a armed to the teeth star destroyer. And they failed MULTIPLE TIMES. For some reason their guns were the slowest shit in the world.
