i have a 100cc 2 stroke motorized bike engine that i had on my mountain bike but had to take it off it literally destroyed the bike it was too powerful it destroyed so many tires by breaking the hub/bearing from all the tq and vibration plus high speeds i had too many issues from how much power it made i really want a tricycle bike to put it on although it would work well on a shifter kart chassis loved the video ike
I put a $29 Spring loaded Seat Post on my mt. bike and it made a world of difference. No roads without potholes in Michigan. Those Phatmoto's are pretty popular with the 'Motorized Bike' community.
Howdy. I am gonna buy a 24 model tomorrow. Been wanting one for years. 799.00 I can do. Been riding a Schwinn w/ 79cc 4 stroke. I bought an Opal GT off the showroom floor. Loved that little car.
I have been building this motorbikes for a couple years now, they are so fun ...my rabbit hole build is a 2 stroke 70 cc vertical mineralli (Yamaha jog), smolic performance head, an expansion chamber off Kx 85..... Fun video.....disc brakes are a must 😂
get yourselves a cloud 9 seat for that thing you'll love it. spring cushion and thick padding, almost a cruiser style just smaller. I've got one on a electric fat tire mountain bike and love it.
This is a very good video tutorial on motorized bicycles. The 98cc 4 stroke engine is the appropriate weight, size and power for motorizing a bicycle, and wow when fitted with the appropriate torque converter the stock engine performance is increased without compromising safety and reliability. Thank you. I appreciate you and your colleague taking time away from your usual content to demonstrate the thrill and satisfaction of riding and working on motorized bicycles.
Anything over 50cc requires a motorcycle license in the netherlands. And you would very likely not get approval for motorized phatbike/beachcruisers. Motorized vehicles with the exception of limited to 25 km/h e-bikes lso requires a license.
Awesome job bud! I think once you get the correct belt size, and I little practice taking corners on the Grand Prix. I really think she can be in the top five on the Grand Prix list. In fact I would put my money on it......
Excellent video Issac :) & John :) very good information and super rides both did to ! Also nice exhaust on to and very good on updates on motor differences!
Flywheel really ! These engines are direct replacements for lawnmowers, generators, water pumps etc. which run at a set rpm..removing the limiter opens up the real potential of the engines and with quality oil will give you many smiles per mile ! 😄
I built a couple of wizzer (wheezer?!) bikes with my Son when he was younger. Even after break-in, the little two-stroke couldn't carry me up the hill I live on without pedaling. I imagine that your phatmoto would have no trouble. I have my doubts about it being street legal without registering it as a motorcycle/scooter. It looks fun!
We squeeze some insane performance from motorized bicycles on the FB groups (Zeda Mafia, RDM, Smolik Performance, etc)- in fact, there is a actually a Phatmoto spec class this year at AVS on April 12-13 and Phatmoto is bringing bikes available for rental.
@@becksbikes5875 Been caught up with race prep and helping people out to work on my builds but Im finally caught up and should have updates of a few projects that I'm working on soon!
It's the 2019 model. 2020 model is when they switch to disc brakes front and back. Way way better stopping power especially when you mount a set of trp hy/rd that are a all in one caliber that are hydraulic works with the cables massive improvement but run you around $100 each. Work with stock cables and levers but some jag wire cables with some Shimano rotors and levers it's prefect! Magora would be better of course but way more expensive.
I bought one of those engines for $40 and replaced the 105cc that came on my mini bike. It did the job until I got a 212 it is a decent little engine for it being a 98cc
This is brilliant! I was thinking about putting the 79cc predator if I can get better valve springs, remove governor and Mikuni copy carb, just dont know what fits. Thanks for all to Go Kart Porn btw!
clever build, I am in that weird realm of dual sport with an ebike at 1500w. it does 38mph. Ponder there as been 100cc dual sport street legal bikes for many decades...they simply have direct gear transmissions.
you want a good full adjustable suspension with lockout . . . then get paddle wheel for the rear and sand tire for the front, go hit the dunes, ITS A HOOT!!!! yz125 with trans paddle shift w/ auto blip and quickshift... 26" braced mountain bike, (alloy) you need to modify the rear swingarm to accommodate a larger (wider) tire and larger brake rotor/caliper setup (brembo w/ radial master) .. with 6 gears tight you can hit 70, only real place to do this IS in the sand, don't risk it anywhere else! the sand can be very fun specially with some have flat top dunes, oh boy! why you want a good heavy adjustable suspension dial it in for sweet jumps at 60-mph oh yea 100ft EASY.. but you need bigger or wider tires or the landing you just stick like mud and end up flying over the bars... use a 4.5" paddle tire in the rear then if you always land rear tire first you're golden!!! its a FUGGEN HOOT!!! I did all the crash test dummy stuff for ya... decent suspension with lock out set up for sand sprung for YOUR weight, widen rear swinger for a at least a 4" paddle tire... that means a custom rim but so easy .. launch and bring front up and land on rear and its good to go, with skinny front if you bring it down too early it will sink in the sand if its deep and loose but no biggie cuz that's why you're in the sand, nothing gets hurt....
Gps has the mounting plate you need for the motor. The bb80 mega moto mini bike plate. It let me bolt on a p79 motor that I maxed out that 98 should also bolt right up.
@@isaacitllbefine7231 I love everything you guys do. That car has a special meaning to me. Do something with it and show everyone what a great car it is.
You have any videos about the torque converter on those? I’ve seen a lot about people doing it but I know it’s not straight forward considering the 5/8 shaft. The shaft adapter seems hit or miss every time I look into it.
I'm putting a 3 horse predator on a Walmart bike had to cut the front section of frame out and weld the plate on top of it now I just figured out how to make my torque converter work looking at the fat Moto setup !
That belt will work if you take the bolts off let the motor be loose put the belt on and then put the motor back in and lock it down. I'm a coach mechanic lol. Seriously I am a mechanic and you can see that that would work.
i did the same on mine / that 98cc engine accepts all 79cc parts like the metal cam n billet flywheel n carbs n exhaust .fit it .. i put a 19mm amazon slide carb n no gov n i get about 55 ... also it takes 212 pred valve covers n rockers n springs
Not that you're looking to upgrade again, but if you have 13" between that base plate and the top tank/bar, a GC160/190 (or even 135) would go well...only 25lbs for the 135/160. Plenty of cheap used ones around off of dead pressure washers.
I got a weird project it's going on a Santa Fe Huffy 2 will the 1979 Gamefisher 7.5 horse 2-stroke engine against my brothers 212 Predator Harbor Freight 1979 Stingray mini chopper setup up like a old Harley Davidson bike from like the 1919 bikes my frame weigh jn at 25 pounds plus got to add the weight for the gas tank new fat off road tires its a belt to jack shalft to chain hope it work making it into a speed bike having some issues trying to keep it cool though don't know if it needs a radiator or not my brother tells me it's water cooled but I don't think it is it might have a water pump on it because it is a boat motor outboard motor
