The reason "in the air tonight" sounds like its possibly hiding stuff/meant to be played backwards is because of all the reverse reverb used. Other than that I dont think there's anything to hear in it.

i'm fairly sure another one bites the dust is much much MUCH more audible than this... there's nothing in this one... if you want a good one, i found in Weird Al's "Can't watch this" there's a part where a cartoon character says "help, i've fallen and i can't get up" or something, but backwards it says "ow, they smashed me on the nipple" lmao
OK...I am soooo confused with these supposed subliminal messages in songs. So does that mean when we just normally talk...if someone recorded us and played it backwards....we would we be giving subliminal messages all the time?? This stuff is just soooo lame!
Im tired of hearing that haha I believe we should live our lives however they lead us. Enjoy them, regardless of the People who deserve to be wiped away. Think about it...if there werent people like them, then there wouldnt be people like us(assuming you're one of the better ones ;] )
I appreciate the effort, but backmasking is a really hard thing to do. Like here Collins would've had to actually first think of "I want so many women" and then researched what it sounds like backwards, put that as the title of his new single and rolled. Plausible?

Such BS. You put enough random lyrics together (which is what this song is) and you'll find something that sounds like actual words when played backwards....especially if you're really looking for something. Hell, play half of all the songs that have ever been written and you'll find something.
What a bunch of BS. Just another song where reversed dialog could be construed as pretty much anything you want to hear. And anything you do hear is merely coincidental, like how people see "faces" in certain pictures. The human brain is developed such that it can recognize certain letters or phrases in seemingly random noises, even if it is happenstance. We hear what we want to hear and see what we want to see, period.
I failed to hear anything in that. Just a bunch of mumbling crap. I think anything that we say when played backwards can be made to sound like something horrible. I do agree however that some of the songs that I have heard backwards are plain as day and made me think twice about what I was singing though. LOL. Some thiings they take too far!
