My first view of this interview. So very good. I love seeing how Mr. Collins has changed over the years, matured if you will. After listening to him for a long time (I heard 'The Lamb' album shortly after it had been released) I realize this is a thoughtful and complicated man. Clearly a stickler for quality and vastly creative, Phil Collins is a modest but avant-garde musical genius. He would blush at that but it is true. He was the heart of Genesis even with Peter Gabriel, yet set off on his own solo career which vastly shaped the music of the 1980s. Loved by millions, this hard-working icon deserves all his accolades.
Thanks a lot for this interview, I haven't seen it before - very very rare. :))) Do you have any more soundchecks, TV reports with Phil and Genesis- or any other interviews?
I'm sure there will be others as I have thousands of tapes to go through, as regards to this interview..... Music Box was available in the UK via cable (the old Rediffusion system) and satellite neither were common in the UK and as a tape trader I never came across anyone else in the UK at this time with access..... In mainland Europe satellite was more common but still not more widespread until 1987/88
