Thats one of the reasons i love phil and the show so much hahahah the scenes where a character would say something without realizing how it sounds out loud are the best. Esp when phil says smthn thats sounds weird during a talking head scene and then keeps trying to word the sentences better only to end up making it worst lmaoooo.
@@khaleahpatterson4294 m gonna miss this though guy, best dad ever, best friend, best grandfather,. Actually him and claire are the best parent in the world
Look, I like The Office as much as the next guy but please don't compare Phil Dunphy with Michael Scott. Phil is more charismatic, funny and charming. As funny as Michael is, his humor is usually based on him being the butt of the joke.
@@hittingyouoverthehead So much of what Phil says is him saying things that has an obvious double meaning which he's obvilious to, that's still being the butt of the joke
@@sidiyer841 No, I disagree. Although what you're saying is somewhat true, Michael is kind of sad when you think about it. He's the kind of personality that yearns for love, has so much to offer but his personality repels people away from him. Phil is the opposite. He was married as soon as he got out of college(granted they wrote him like that so they could have young parents and a teenage daughter in a show about family). Phil is charming and charismatic. He is slightly nerdy but attracts women despite that, sometimes without even trying. Michael on the other hand has to try very hard and even then has success very rarely.
Jay was a typical white old guy who is defined by his own toxic masculinity. But seeing Phil, displaying his goofy, emotional and gender-defying acts hurt his ego. Eventually he came around and saw Phil for what he actually were. A family-loving, perfect dad. Jay learnt a lot from his son-in-law too.
@@nayelynunez6753 lol he loves Claire more than anything.. it is normal that he is attracted to other attractive women. like any other guy or any other woman attracted to other handsome men.
Why do people assume that we don't want men like Phil, or that we'll just get pissed off in the end. Any kind of husband can piss you off, I'd prefer if mine was as sweet, goofy and caring as Phil tho 🤷🏾♀️
"What's my coaching philosophy? Give a kid a bird, he becomes one of those weird dude's who walks around with a bird on his shoulder. But give a pair of wings, and he can fly. Unless. . .he has absolutely no hand eye coordination."🤣😂that's officially my philosophy to everything now
"I regularly drive through neighborhoods that have only recently been gentrified" has got to be one of the funniest lines ever written or spoken on TV, especially when used in the context of trying to proof how brave someone is. It is ironic in that it is a better example of his cowardice.
I'm a latecomer to Modern Family and have just started working my way through it. One of the many things that's keeping me glued is Phil. He's adorable and dare I say it? Yes I dare. There's something very sexy about him! 😱😉
Same here. I've seen episodes here and there but only recently I watched the show in full. I think other characters have ups and downs but Phil is a consistently hilarious character throughout all 11 seasons. I bet the writers had the most fun coming up with those one liners for Phil.
It is a shame they stopped making this show--- I know they cast started to age out, but--- I'd still be interested in watching them as they got older.. maybe it was a good idea to quit while they were ahead, but it is still bitter sweet.
My favourite character on the show. The actor is fantastic. He is so natural as the loveable goofball and yet can play selfish, arrogant a-hole and it comes out just as authentic. Very underrated.
Phil and Gloria are no doubt the best character on this show🤣 When Phil was trapped in a room and counting tic tac for meal plan that threw me out like crazy And everytime Gloria speaks in an american accent I just don't know what to do🤭🤭🤭
I loved those episodes when they started with a meaningfull question. First 4 seasons felt more emotional, personal and relatable. New seasons are great, but they kinda lost that feeling and style.
He’s the glue of the show. Dude created the best character ever.. I hope he’s filthy rich and stupid happy, he’s given us all a ton of laughs he deserves the best.
