PHIL HARE - THE LAKES OF PONCHARTRAIN 

This great old song came into my head the other day so I decided to see what I could remember of it. The version that emerged - albeit slightly slower and not sung as well! - is very much one inspired by the definitive recording done by the great Donegal songwriter and musician Paul Brady from the late 1970's. This is also based on the 'Songs Of the People' text (No 619). The Fylde guitar is tuned CGCGCD. Many thanks to IMRO/MCPS.
