I think it took me 3 minutes of "why isn't the conductor moving at all" to recognise it's just a picture...

After Akhnaten, thought I'd never appreciate anything by Glass. WRONG! Saw this last night, live, by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Muti conducting. Blew me away. Absolutely amazing when all instruments playing at once. Nine percussionists. Philip Glass was in attendance. Standing ovation felt like 15 minutes.

I was also at that performance. It brought tears to my eyes to not only hear it performed but to see the composer there in the flesh. I've loved his work since my father showed me Koyaaniqatsi as a child. To be there for that night is a story I'll tell for the rest of my days.

Listening to this beautiful piece would have been enhanced greatly with a video of the orchastra playing. Alas and Alack they are under one of Harry's Petronus spells.

Truly magnificent playing from a world class orchestra and very precise conductor.

As we can hear at 3:37 (just as an example). And only people who think that this is a world class orchestra could believe that this is a magnificent piece Spend a few seconds on thinking about why any of the actual world class orchestras would never play this piece...

@@viktorajstein In your opinion, is the Chicago Symphony Orchestra a world class orchestra? well, they are playing this symphony tonight, with Riccardo Muti. I agree the Sevilla orchestra is far from a world class orchestra.
