Philippines WARNED Me Don't Travel To Muslim Mindanao Cotabato City. In this Philippines vlog I travel to Cotabato City located in the Bangsamoro autonomous region of muslim mindanao. This city in Maguindinano has a beautiful mosque that was built by the sultan of Brunei known as Grand Mosque of Cotabato (sultan haji hassanal bolkiah mosque). I was warned to not travel to Cotabato city because apparently this muslim region of Mindanao is deemed unsafe and dangerous for a foreigner but I felt welcomed and peaceful.

Myer the mosque was donated by the Sultan of Brunei when the Philippines govt asked for his help to continue the mosque after the Saudi govt backed out due to some issues. Alhamdullilah it's done.

Alhamdulillah. I was there in Cotabato City in late 2023. I loved the place. We stayed at the Al-Nor hotel complex, which is great as they got a mall and modern food restaurents and coffee shops. I think i was the only non-Filipino there as well. Loved every moment of it and hope to head back there for my fourth time. Inshaa'Allah.

Mindanao is generally peaceful nowadays and it's entirely different what had happened 20-25 years ago. Rapid developments are now visible to many cities in Mindanao just like Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, General Santos City, Butuan, Iligan, Tagum, Koronadal, Pagadian and Zamboanga.

You are having a good experience. There are some foreigners that do live there. We should not get into the habit of providing or promoting what people say about Muslims, and the community of Muslims indirectly. Many situations are created by other people of other religions and faiths. The media that is controlled by the west says that where you come from is an extremely dangerous country. People should not go there. Does that mean that you are a extremely dangerous person, no!Your information is informative, but it is somewhat naive and misleading. People of Cotobato are kind and respectful. They welcome all who go there. There are a few foreigners who leave there. As you see and experience people are going about their business and working and offering what they have. Salaam’s and smiles are coming from all the people that don’t know you. Be respectful and they will treat you respectfully, be kind and they will treat you with kindness. You show them love they will love you as much or more.

MashAllah such a beautiful masjid..but sadly it is empty. As lovely as it is to see these grand mosques it is very sad to see them empty..like museums..similar to Turkiye's mosques. Mosques are meant to be prayed in and not just built to look like architectural wonders! InshAllah it gets busier. I wish the sultan had built them nicer homes to live in rather a huge mosque people rarely frequent. Was it hot when you were filming?

Just discovered this channel and it made me happy that there are foreigner making vlogs about City. If you have more time, we can also tour you around nearby tourist spots in Maguindanao. We have lagoons, falls and beautiful beaches but it's not located in the City but the travel time to reach them is just minutes away and an hour at most. Anyways, feel free to return when you have time. I have enjoyed your vlogs, it's raw but it's cool showing people and areas of Cotabato City. 🫰

@sambojones3826 they deloveratly delay rebuilding it. Its the neverebding Manila politics and internal corruptions in the ph. Most people are still displaced in "temporary" shed/refuge camp-buildings in the vicinities of the city. Noone knows when Marawi city will be cleared to be moved back into. No real priority for the ph gov.

Bad people are everywhere but it doesn't mean all people in Cotabato City are bad. Every country there are bad people but not all people in each country are bad.
