A video of activated carbon in action and telling the difference between charcoal vs activated carbon. Visit us at www.philipscarbon.com or www.bfi.com.ph
Activation is an etching of the surface to open more space on the charcoal. The bubbles are air being displaced from the tiny perforations in the charcoal. I didn’t go to college so take that for what it’s worth.
Can i ask you somethig? I bought activated carbon from pharmacy and i tried this at home but it doesn't bubble at all, i have two types, one is like capsule the other is tablette ,and i put them in regular water but they just don't bubble...so are they selling us nonactivated carbon or even worse something else? Please answer
I would like to invest in activated charcoal infused hardware, but I am uncertain of the efficacy of it being reusable, it's application (structural integrity, efficacy, concentration per surface area), and it's ability to trigger compound reactions with other substances after absorbing material from the air, water, or land. I am also interested in water purification, land conversation/purification, and air treatment with the propagation of household, industrial, and commercial products. I am interested in investing large sums in relation to activated charcoal technological integration along with hydrogen fuel and gold-iodide electromagnetism.
According to test methods, what is the normal activated carbon mass to add per liter of methylene blue solution? What should be methylene blue concentration for this test to be valid? Because seems like too much activated carbon added to around half a liter MB solution. As activated carbon not cheap product, for large contaminated waters, not cost effective to add too much activated carbon
@@juniormf575 what is the food coloring for and did the methylene blue actually activate the charcoal? Does that mean food coloring will activate it too?
hello Dear friends Good day . We manufactured GCA,CAC,GPC,CPC,Silicon Carbide,Graphite Electrode Scrap / Powder/ Granules.Calcium Aluminate Silicon Metal,Ferro Silicon, graphite Electrode if you interested pls contact us MOB:0086-18322780850
Nishtha Pathania ,: yes, actually there are few air purifiers that can filter out VOC by carbon filter. Any larger particles can be filtered via HEPA filter.
What would happen if you put that activated carbon that cleared up the blue dye, in hot water? Will it release the blue dye into the water? I'm just wondering
What does activated carbon do in gold mining I've looked at alot videos but none for gold leaching with NaCN all I hear it swells in volume as for the Iodine experiment meaning the carbon and NaCN is filtered out not the full explanation.
Hi Roman! Activated Carbon does the same in the video to gold in cyanide solution. In gold leaching, gold is dissolved with cyanide. Once it is dissolved you now have a gold cyanide solution. Gold in liquid form. The solution is then passed through or mixed with activated carbon. Activated Carbon adsorbs the gold. Now you have carbon that is loaded with gold. You can either burn the carbon and recover gold. Or you can have the gold undergo electrolysis and separate the gold from the carbon and reuse the carbon.
Yes, it can change the physical properties like the ones you've mentioned. The activated carbon will adsorb the impurities thereby making your wastewater pure.
I used approximately 50mL volume of very high grade activated carbon in 175ml of stale beer. Stirred, let set overnight, and once filtered, I ended up with ZERO smell or taste of beer. I presume I could have used less AC, but didn't feel compelled to repeat the experiment to find out.
I have prepared activated carbon by chemical activation (KOH) process, While washing process more acid has mixed in activated carbon. How Can I remove acidic nature of activated carbon
Hi, A) please help me understand. Why normal carbon can cause so much damage that people in carbon fiber manufacturer must wear mask and carbon in the food is bad and this is beneficial? B) in what solution activated carbon bubbles?
1) Carbon fiber is dangerous for the same reason asbestos fiber or any other dust can be dangerous. It can damage lung tissue, and due to constant abrasion from breathing, can cause DNA damage that can lead to cancer. Activated charcoal works similarly to a molecular sieve. It traps larger molecules (typically organic compounds) in its pores while letting smaller ones pass though. 2) Activated carbon is typically stored in a anhydrous (dry) state, so when it is placed in water, it releases its air. Charcoal still has tar and oils in it, making it hydrophobic.
@Sir Fa Some extrapolation from the SDS as well as general knowledge from personal use. Carbon fiber is stable when not oxidized (which causes it to heat up and burn), and causes similar symptoms to fiberglass, which is quite analogues.
It can last forever if stored properly. Its adsorption power will not decrease as long as its pores are not saturated with what it can catch in the open environment.
So i bought active carbon from pharmacy and i put it in regular water and i didn't get any bubbles...is it possible that i drank something black? :/ :)
Hi Katerina! Most activated carbon from pharmacies are in very fine powder form. Because they are too fine, the particles float on water and the air displacement happens on the surface and quickly.
Hello Cutie Pie! Charcoal is the raw material for activated carbon. You need to subject your charcoal to about 1000 deg C and introduce steam for about 24 hrs.
Hi Simon! The bubbles are caused by the displacement of air by water in the pores of the carbon. Regular charcoal can also perform adsorption tasks but to a very very limited degree.
Thank you for the response, I tried using peanut shell charcoal yesterday and 10g was able to adsorb about 200ppb of metal ions from 1 litre of water, I suppose activated charcoal would be much more successful
@@juniormf575We have been making filters similar to a bio sand filter replacing the sand with powdered charcoal which has worked well for removing metal impurities for people drinking river water contaminated with mine runoff, it's probably much higher media replacement rate than if they were using activated but in the area the filters are being used, activated carbon is too expensive
@@simonbanks5012 Charcoal will work. Activated Carbon will just perform better. You just have to change your charcoal filter more often. Or you can use a big charcoal filter. If the point of use makes using activated carbon impractical charcoal will definitely do.
Hey, I just got activated charcoal powder for dye removal which is a part of my thesis. But the powder isn't bubbling at all and I don't know what to do, if someone here could help it would be great.
@@juniormf575 Clear need only alcohol mixed with water, dissolve oil shell better in water. Coconut coal, approximately 50 grams per 1 litre of vodka or whiskey for the future. Gravitational circulation solution, chilled to -25 degrees Celsius, alcohol with water through this coal within 90 minutes. These rules use the liqueur factories in Poland and in Russia. After cleaning the coal product, it must be filtered through the Silicon sand and paper filters using the filter press, or a vacuum pump and Büchner funnel.
Hi! Activated Carbon bubbles due to the principle of air displacement. When carbon is activated pores are developed. These pores fill with air and once submerged in liquid the air is displaced by liquid.
