I thought I'll make a 'short' tutorial of fixing the Philips Sonicare .. well it got a bit longer, but I hope I can help anyone that sturggles to open or repair it :)
The Model seen in the Video is the "Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100" - Model number HX684A.
The common, well known problems are adressed:
(1) The Toothbrush gets quite loud, with a rattling noise and the vibration is poor or not that soft as you would expect a "sonic"-toothbrush to be.
(2) The brush head becomes loose and is wobbly, in my case it felt like something was broken inside - luckily, it's just a screw that needs to be tightened.
The video includes:
00:00 - Intro and problem description
00:53 - Opening the housing with plastic tool and pipe wrench
06:20 - Extracting the electic components out of the housing
08:00 - Things that might break things that need to be repaired
10:25 - How to take apart
15:20 - Fixing the magnet spacers (rattling)
20:15 - Fixing the loose brush head
22:22 - Cleaning the housing
23:40 - Reassembly and check
