shame on the tour organisation for having this many dangerous curbs in a high sprint finish. they want excitement and money at the cost of rider safety.

I don't think the course was to blame here. The race track is pretty wide and from what I saw, the curbs were all fenced off.

The whole peloton was boxing him in. He had no opportunity to step to the front. I understand teams target him because he appears to be the strongest around but this was crazy.

@@Infiltator2 eventually? they were attacking in each stage (specially yesterday and today) but couldn't win. Explicitly the manager in the car by radio said that all the team could work to let Wout win. Today all the team was fighting in the first positions except Wout that was in 4th or 5th rows. For me, is very weird.

Time is taken before the finish so crashes in the last part of the stage won't influence the results. Everyone in the group is getting the same time no matter what will happen after said point. Thanks to that riders who are not interested in stage win can take it easier thus making it safer (and in the same time it ecourages some to take more risk). Places 1 to 3 get extra seconds deducted (10 - 6 - 4) in general classifications (so placing 1 to 3 still matters).

@@nazmi3635 It is a set point for every stage (except TTs obviously) and it's usually 3km, but can be longer if organisers decide it makes more sense for this particular stage.

I'm saying there is a point of argument for both - vdp was also relegated kind of justifies the statemnet.. and I gave props to phillipsen as being on form - he's the best sprinter ATM.
