Okay this may sound silly, when I visit the barbers I usually opt for a 2 on the top and 1 on the sides. How would I translate that using this product? Cheers, great vid!
+Western Affair Thank you for your question. It was a delight to find out the answer. Basically a Grade 1 is 3mm and a Grade 2 is 6mm: www.kgbanswers.co.uk/how-long-is-a-grade-1-2-3-and-4-haircut/22796065
Western Affair I was told that no.8 was 1 inch, so that makes a No.2 1/4 inch and a No.1 1/8 inch. The metric alternatives are close enough, but with this, looks like you can actually set it to 3.25 and 6.45mm.
I have one, and ive had it for 8 years or more, still sharp, use it every week, but the touch is malfunctioning, well its not all broken, it works after a few tries. but after so many years of use, I cant really complain! but I would like to hear if someone have a fix for the touch to respond at first try
400 length settings is a gimmick, nobody needs that much, plus it's difficult to navigate, much better value is 7460, with 60 length settings, everything else is the same, but it's much cheaper.
Sup3rSaiy3n Yeah, HC5450 is a good choice, but even better is HC7460. Digital, 60 lengths, perfect for a fade, battery holds 120 mins, also three attachments up to 42mm. I have 5450, but I ordered 7460 because it has increments up to 0.2mm, which works like a lever on a classic clipper.
I have one of these for a few months now and my sidepart needs cutting every two weeks, my hair grows that fast. The great thing about the clippers is that we are not depending on guards and levers anymore, we can choose different lengths and use what looks best on us. BUT however, cutting the sides and back short (on length 12mm, i don't do fading) results in patches, lines, stripes, balder spots and long hairs remaining. I tried and tried and trimmed until my skin was red from rubbing it with the clippers but no better result. I remember that this wasn't the case with the first cut i did with it. Anybody else has this? What is the solution?
@@Sup3rSaiy3n I'm so jealous. Yesterday i was so desperate that i tried to combine the Philips with my Wahl home elite pro. The Wahl is to my opinion terrible to cut with. Impossible to blend to a longer part, it creates very hard lines that are impossible to remove. The Wahl is only working well on cutting shorter hair (in my case 13mm) evenly. Could it be that my Philips needs repairs or replacement? It has a 2 year warranty.
@@Sup3rSaiy3n done. They will investigate my clippers. We will see, if they don't replace them I'll guess I'll have to get used to my Wahl clippers or go back to my barber.
