I heard Bill say in an interview, the only thing he regretted about this rant was that he forgot about the Philadelphia 76'ers. lol

He did this because it was a comedy festival and the crowd booed a couple comedians off stage including booing Bill and he had enough. This was the result lol

It was a show with a bunch of top notch comedians and the drunk crowd booed everybody before him, so instead of doing his set, he blew the crowd to pieces.

I love how at the end Philly still ended up applauding him, because a person that can stand on the stage for ELEVEN minutes with THAT crowd and just drop bomb after bomb, chest out, deserves some respect. OG Bill!

This is basically the moment that made him a legend in the comic community. It was basically unheard of to turn around such a big crowd, especially after they had booed every person before him off. He did it with absolute ease, while simultaneously ripping the audience apart, saying what every other comedian wanted to say.

Philly is known to just boo everyone. That night they booed every person up to him. By time he went up he was pissed all they did was boo everyone before the second they started booing him he went off for his 15 minute set. He counts down the whole time how much longer his rant was going to happen

This is comedy, legendary shit. I love Bill, the line "and I will be selling my CD after this" baller shit. He dropped the elbow. Great moment in stand up. I point to this as his prowess as the top man in stand up. There's really so many points that he scored it's hard to keep track. He was Wilt Chamberlain on the 100 point night. He hasn't slowed down since.

Instead of either cancelling his set or cutting it short due to the disrespect of the crowd he decided to throw the set out and just roast Philly for the whole 14 minute set, that's why he keeps counting down how much time is left. He's forcing them to listen to it. And it's comedy gold :)

Man I was there, this shit was amazing. I was a 5 hour show, with every drink possible in the heat. We were gonna boo anything, but by the end he got a standing ovation. He still talks about how the was a turning point in his career.

There was a mix of boos and cheers, because there were a ton of New Jersey and New York folks in the crowd, and they were loving the fact the Bill was roasting the hell out of the Philly folks.

There are many stories about this day, but here's how I remember Jim Norton telling this story. It all started out as a normal comic festival, but after the intermission the crowd got progressively worse, and Bill got pissed because they were just heckling the comics offstage, including a couple from Philly that this show was going to be their break in the standup gig, as it was put on by Opie and Anthony and headlined by Jim. I forget who was the person to go onstage right before him, but he didn't even try to get into his material before he was booed offstage. Bill wouldn't have any of it when they tried to do the same to him he just snapped with about 12 minutes remaining in his 15 minute set, resolving himself to complete his 15 minutes. There are many clips of the comics who were there telling this story. At this point I think going after Bill is like trying to go after Eminem. He's going to murder you, and you're going to pee yourself laughing at it.

I’m sure it’s been said correctly, but Bill did an interview explaining what happened. The show was like 10hrs long. Most comics did fine but the opener got destroyed by the crowd. Trace Morgan walked off his set and Bill was in a bad mood cause he knew this was a bad idea. He even admits he came out ready to fight. But he earned phillys respect
