He thought the fans would side with him. You either accept the now undeniable fact that drake doesn't write his own songs and don't give a fuck, or you take him off your top 5,10, and even 20 as an mc. The majority have chosen the former mainly because of Drake's popularity and what he has contributed to rap. Which is a lot, I would agree. But he didn't do it how we thought he did. The judge of this beef is a biased hip hop fan base who doesn't care about authenticity. Personally, I view Drake's insults as just insults or shit talking. I view Meek's insults as pure fact. Which is worse? I believe Meek is the winner the moment the reference tracks were released. I still think Drake is more popular, but I'd rather have the whole twitter world cracking jokes on me then be pissed on with no retaliation and know deep down that my accomplishments aren't truly mine to claim. But fuck it if no one cares I'm a fraud.
