Whenever I'm having a really shitty day and losing faith in humanity, Phish helps me remember that no matter how overwhelming this place is, the world is filled with beauty, community and joy!
Trey absolutely does NOT get the credit he deserves for his playing. He is a complete and total master in every possible way on the instrument, yet unless you’re in the jam band scene you’ve probably never even heard of him before. I mean, his playing in the video alone demonstrates his total command of the instrument but he is far from the mainstream even in the guitar community. Coming from another jam band guitarist, he is just super, super, super stupidly good. Jimmy Herring is another generational talent on guitar who also doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
@@Tfististhis it actually really is insane. He can play just about every genre and even do a better job in that genre than some other guitarists who just focus on that one single genre. Funk, rock, blues, prog, jazz, hard rock, reggae, folk, and Spanish styles are what immediately comes to mind in terms of genres that Trey has basically mastered. Like I said, even in the guitar community he doesn’t get very much love at all, which truly is crazy. I think this word gets used too much, but Trey 100% is a MASTER on guitar in every single way.
The first and the best!!!!! Belly full of fungus, Fishman side in the front. Taken backstage for the end of the set for a photo shoot for one of the documentaries - I must have looked happy, like we all did that weekend :) On the way out, ran into Trey being interviewed by two State Troopers for the local news. Had no choice, followed my feet, and shared a hug, a quick word and a smile. I miss you all there
Wish i had the neon green shorts Mike wore one of the Clifford Ball days... Or some cut-off jean shorts Bob Weir would wear on any given day. Bob then and Bob now are like two different Bobs. It's like he adopted part of Jerry's soul after he died...
I was here and I remember how fun it was when Trey shouted, play it Leooooooo! Forgot about that til I just lived it again... sometimes RU-vid is beautiful. ❤️
god this video makes me so happy. seeing the boys so happy is great. i just got back from spac weekend and it was great. so glad these men are still together playing music for us.
Amen! Was just watching this and thinking I've never seen a group of guys so obviously feeling the joy of creating music together! I was at this show and didnt have this great view. But it was still electrifying to be a member of that organism. The crowd was so primed for the music after the long days in the sun. Those were crazy days where at times you might reasonably have forgotten where you were and what you were doing. At those times I was always reminded of the lyric "If you get confused listen to the music play." 🎉

Remember all the days in the pond Catchin' wild trout till the break of dawn Now that you've become a man, looking very mean Got a nice shiny sports car, keep it very clean Don't ask him what it was, tell him what it is (2x) Sing the song now: Ya mar, ya mar, ya mar, ya mar, Ya mar, ya mar, ya mar, I got an oh kee pah She used to be a vampire child, walkin' in the yard Now that she's become a woman, lookin' very proud You used to wear a piece of cloth tied around your head Now she looks so good, wanna love you dead Don't ask her what it was, tell her what it is (2x) Sing the song now: Ya mar, ya mar, ya mar, Ya mar, ya mar, ya mar, Ya mar, you no good pah
I think it's a reference to Leo Kottke, a friend of the band's and a great guitarist in his own right. They also did some recording with him. Can't remember the name of it.
