Phoa Full Interview - Talks RCF Crew, Adelaide Graffiti History, Old Paint & More 

Amazed to see this interview almost 35 years since I was involved in this scene - Big up to Phoa - he was a rock back then and for me as a confused 12yr old he looked out for me at the bench and saved me from an arse kickin at the bench a number of times during my introduction to the scene- this was an era I look back on fondly, Phoa, Gee, Chrome (R.I.P), waste, B.Tan, Armsy, Rank, Run 71, Rust, Tense - hell even Keo after he got to know me, were the true mentors of the scene back then. CSI / RCF will always be the original crews. I live on the other side of the world now but still travel globally to take photos of street art. Was so pleased to see Dave finally released his book! Social History of Adelaide. Graff murals were my escape from the depressing place that Adelaide was. It was amazing the network we had back then in the absence of social media internet etc, so hearing that Dave stuck to his guns in the way his book was presented shows he still stands firm on his principles.

Keep the writer interviews coming man these are awesome! I was born in 86 and started traveling train lines myself exploring and actually noticing the graffiti around 95. So to hear the history of where all that old stuff come from to me is a privilege. Thanks to the kings for paving the way!

I learned about breakdance from little pamphlets that were inside Weetbix boxes. Serious. I would practice in the kitchen, but couldnt even master a kneespin. Big ups Dave!

Good to see a veteran talk honestly and intelligently about his experiences with hip-hop. Makes a nice change from the usual Muppets trying to glorify their petty crime.
