1. They are an actual VAG racing team for Porsche and Audi. They have access to all the DTM and GT cars. 2. They pride themselves on building the exact same model. This means it’s automotive grade aluminium, pu injections, buttons and so on. So anyone saying “components cost 100$”, you have obviously never looked at building your own wheel before. Not to mention the price, but even being able to buy some of these components is very difficult.

@@designamk1160 nope not the same thing at all, this is a whole other step, this is literally a one to one replica of a wheel that goes in a real race car, you could put this in that Audi and be cleared to race. That costs real money.

Still not worth it to me just to have that , I'd much rather have any GSE but yeah this wheel is much higher quality than those wheels you mentioned. Go look at the wheels from Formula E and IndyCar and see how much they cost.

I have a fairly high end sim rig (not bragging , just some perspective) P1x, NLR V3, Pro Sim H Pattern, Jinx SQ, AioLogs SQ, AioLogs HB, 4 Buttkickers, 4 button boxes, SC2 Pro, HRS XeroPlay QR, SimCore wheel deck, SimCore shaft extension, HPP 3P JBV hydraulic pedals, Sparco seat, couple rare Momo steering wheels and a Cube Controls GT Pro Zero WiFi. I’m not afraid to completely blow money on immersion. The wheel in this video is nice with the LED backlight parts but I can’t see how it could be more expensive then those bespoke wheels with displays built in. It’s actually kinda insulting. Almost predatory. That’s probably taking it too far but damn.

So damn wow...how do you like the hpp jbv's?? I got the hpp prxe's...simlab sf1 seat, ole logitech shifter lol might not even use it lol and a polsimer wheel with 3 32 inch lg ultragears and the motionhouse 2un seat mover all from mr. Barry lol except the screens and logitech shifter of course ...things i need simlab p1x or simlab gt1 evo and triple monitor stand..oh and a pc smh lol but its coming along slowly but surely!! Oh and if you do not mind replying the extensions for the wheelbase you think that is a must have for larger screens so that i can position it farther back under screens? If ya dont want to reply i understand lol just very curious

Pretty much everything where you can use an stand 70 mm 6 screw Wheelmount.

From what I've read, it's only marginally better than the Simucube 2 Pro which is about half the price of the Ultimate. And the Pro is already a very good wheel base.

as much as I appreciate quality, the diminishing returns on this wheel is just too high. I will pay for quality any day of the week, but you can buy a wheel with the same quality from SSRG or SIMCORE for 1-1.2k. I also want to mention the POLSIMER wheel has the same kind of fantastic grips- Been using it for a year and they haven't worn one bit. That wheel costs 400 EURO... Obviously it's much cheaper in construction, but I use it with my ultimate wheel base and it hasn't skipped a beat.... This wheel is a niche product reserved for wealthy people who have the disposable income to throw at something super high quality in areas that don't matter much. To my ear the paddles don't even sounds that great tbh. They sound kinda like Ascher paddles with too much of a metallic feel. Anyway, to each their own... It's definitely gorgeous, but your money is better spent elsewhere imo.

The other great thing about Polsimer is they supply a double ended DIN cable for the wheel, and then a DIN to USB cable that you can actually mount to aluminium profile. I was disappointed to see something like this was missing from such an expensive wheel....just a USB extension cable??? Surely they could have come up with a more elegant solution given the effort they have put in to the wheel itself.

@@tilus75 yah, I never said it was! I’m just saying for 400 you get an amazing wheel with amazing grips which is just way more practical for most sim racers. There is a point of diminishing returns here… I have issues with the lack of features on this wheel for the price. I did say you can get similar build quality as this from a simcore for example, which I stand by- take the Indy19. The wheel is full carbon fiber construction, carbon molds are made in the same factory as the real Indy wheels…. It has a screen, and it’s cheaper than this wheel. As nice as this wheel is, it should cost 2k USD max. This is just my opinion.

To be honest, 3000 seems like such an overprice, the wheel just doesnt look like 3000. It looks too basic in my opinion for 3000

If I am honest, people are able to pay waaaay tooo much and those who sell know that very well. Unless people stop buying stuff like this for $ 3k there is no reason to stop selling it at such price point. I do not say this wheel sucks! But let's be real, any wheel for $3k is overkill and only few people can afford to spend so much for so "little"... I mean if you have the cash flow why not if you like the wheel. But there are way sensible choices out there for way more sensible price tags...

@@IsandJako well if I am honest you can't compare Fanatec $ 100-300 wheel to this Audi wheel... Fanatec is mainly made of plastic, they are able to have way higher production so they can cut some cost compared to these hand made wheels but you can compare with Simucube, GSI wheel specially as it also has no plastic components and that wheel does not go over $1500 and has way more functions + rather large screen

@@IsandJako I am running VRS DFP 20Nm DD and "cheap" Polsimer F1 style wheel. But he still, you can't compare Polsimer that goes under €400 with something like Cube Controls or higher.... Even tho I think price to performance ration is awesome with Polsimer

2022 is the year I go direct. I've been on the G27(great) , then G29(crap) when my 27 died. I am feeling the urge to get back into sim racing after taking a break for awhile because I hate my Wheel. If I had a good setup I would be doing a lot more racing. Thanks for the channel.

@@GrimJerr The objective truth is that the G27 and G29 have pretty much the same amount of torque. You can verify that with a quick Google search. Every review of the two wheels I have ever seen stated that they are extremely similar, with the G29 being slightly better. I own a G29 and it's a decent wheel for the price imo. I'm not saying I don't believe you, just that I genuinely don't know how you feel there's such a big difference between the two. I have no explanation for it. You sure your G27 isn't actually a Simucube Pro?

Oooh brother... maybe I'm too old and I didn't get the joke, but that wheel cost way more than 100$ in components. Belive me, I know how much aluminium back cover, custom PCB (good quality, not cheap Chinese ones) race spec shifters and so on costs. Overpriced? Maybe but for sure not 100$ in parts😉

For the asking price, I'd expect this wheel rim to be offered with features such as wireless-only and an LCD screen, etc..!!! 🤔 However, *$3000.00* is an awfully overpriced item..!!! 🤯.., 🤦‍♂️

He says price over 3100 Euro , that means it will cost you 3662,56 if you live in US and 4647,91 if you live in Canada Norman lol I give you good advice , enjoy watching sim review videos but do not buy . After all we are not racing in real car this is and always will be just a video game lol I think many sim racers forget about that :)

@@tilus75 I understand the point which you're trying to make above..!!! 😳 However, consider that many racing teams utilize *LCD Screens* within their wheel rim designs..!!! 🤔 *(F1 and WRC etc.)* IMHO.., the price still needs to be reviewed..!!! 😲
