It's great that you can still see the gift you have. When I watch you crafting your guitars, particularly when you hand plane the neck blank, the sound reminds me of my Opa and father, both now long departed and their skill with woodwork. And also your unmistakable Dutch accent is a reminder of my heritage for me all the way on the far side on the world here in Sydney. Thank you for sharing your story, I think you have had many more people wishing the best for you than you think. I hope one day soon we will once again hear the unique sound of the keen blade on you plane making long smooth curls of timber on the workshop floor! Well done Daniel!

A very personal and powerful story. You should be proud of yourself for the craft you have honed, the dedication you put into teaching others that craft, and for finding the light in the darkness. Those voices and fears are cruel and unforgiving, and it takes real strength to overcome them. Channelling your energy back into your craft will be cathartic, and each finished project will bring a sense of accomplishment. I cant wait to see your next guitar, and what I am assuming will be an amazing inlay. I've always loved the symbolism of the Phoenix, so very excited to see what you do. It will be good to have you back, but only at a pace that you are comfortable with!

Well done, very moving indeed. When things get dark, just look at that Westone Pantera tribute, the skill and dedication taken to recreate the original, and better the outcome, that is a beacon in itself. Will be good to see you creating dust again soon. tread sure Daniel.
