In Turnabout Goodbyes, when Manfred von Karma used the stun gun on Phoenix and Maya, when she awakes, she says "I wish I hadn't woken up at all", and then this music started to play, I almost started to cry
Maya and Gumshoe are the most relatable characters in the series. Gumshoe struggles with being broke and everyone treating him less then, while Maya has self-esteem issues. I love them both ❤
SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS Maya really toughed through it. Her entire family's hopes and dreams lay with her, and despite all the pressure, she's really become quite the spirit channeller in Kura'in.
"I wish I hadn't woken up" God that moment felt so real to me, I knew Maya wasn't doing so well because of her inferiority complex, but when she said that I just felt shocked, like I'd been slapped. I've had friends tell me they're depressed before, sometimes even suicidally so, and everytime it happens there's this specific feeling I get, like a mix of shock, fear, empathy and despair. This song, and this moment, are the closest any story has ever gotten to replicating that feeling for me.
It’s so sad to see maya like this. She’s always so cheerful and optimistic it just hurts to see when one of the characters you like are going through a hard time.
Spoilers so you people will stop crying: I think that the class trial theme takes the case. But I only think it hits hard when maya ask for help in jfa ep:2 Help me… Help me Nick… I’m scared. *cries*
I just started playing this series of games, and seeing Maya go through her sister's death was one of the hardest gut punches I've ever experienced in a video game.
man can you imagine going to your older sisters workplace expecting to hit up the local burger joint and spend some good quality time with them but instead find them slumped against the wall dead sitting in a pool of their own blood? Furthermore, while you're sitting there mourning the death of your sibling some airhead sees you through the window and calls the cops IMMEDIATELY accusing you of killing them? Fucking hell...
Yeah, the best thing about Reminiscence themes - that is how good they manage to set the tone to the situation. And they greatly remind you of saddest moments in games. And at the same time,it greatly connects with the character. Like DL-6.With that theme i instantly think about Miles giving testimony about his nightmare...
@Tobiah Collins you just created a timeline where you chose that option thus rendering Maya even sadder in a timeline jk tho its fine im kidding lmao, i personally didnt tho cuz it would have made me feel WAY too bad to see her reaction to the point that i dont even wanna consider it
I can empathize with Maya so much. I, to this day, sometimes struggle with the feeling of not being good enough. Of just being a waste. Get help if you ever feel the same way.
@@Wulframe I went to my family first about it, and I also have good friends that I can vent to. If that doesn't work for you, find help from a professional.
SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS SPIRIT OF JUSTICE SPOILERS It's good to see Maya in Spirit of Justice as an accomplished spirit medium. Despite all the pressure from her family, and quite literally being one of the few people who could actually commune with the spirits, we still find her being her cheery old self, pushing forward to meet her lofty goals.
I feel so sorry for Maya when she discovered her sister's corpse usually she's a very happy go lucky kinda girl and that shit *HURTS* me it's a good twist story-wise at the start you think Mia gonna be throughout the whole game
How did I forget the name for this... I looked up Turnabout Sisters and Turnabout Heartbreak and didn't think of this as the title. Now I'm just heartbroken...
seeing Maya all sad, especially when it came to trying to fight against von Karma, was really sad and heartbreaking, poor Maya. she is bright and cheerful though when it comes to investigating the crime scene but when it gets serious, man it just makes you sad
Only plays twice. It plays when Maya is crying over her dead sister and after Manfred attacks them with the stun gun and Maya has a depressive episode.
"I wish I hadn't woken up at all." This theme might just be the heaviest in the whole series. Maya's speech combined with this makes for a truly horrifying moment, one that makes me feel insane dread every single time.
" I've been abandoned, then." I must've missed this line in my first playthrough of this game in my eagerness to finish, but playing through the second time and reading that and this song kicking hit me HARD.
In this game... you can go from having a comically stupid argument about whether a object is a ladder or a stepladder to hearing a character spew their trauma like Edgeworth for example. I have no words.
This song didn't play for me for the first time on the iphone/ipod port when growing up (most likely a bug it would just play the detention center song) but when I replayed it another time it played and yeah the music changed the view that i had the first time i played the case.
