I am not exaggerating, this is beat-for-beat exactly how every interaction between those two goes in Ace Attorney.

Dramatic back and forth arguing about something, only for the most obvious piece of evidence to be the answer to the case is the most ace attorney thing ever

Tumblr, one of few places where people play out a court hearing just for the fun of it, and I'm here for it

I'm amazed it took so long for someone to point out that it was a hold shelf. Everyone understood that the paper was placed there by library staff, but not WHY the paper was in there.

This should be on every law text book.

I will point out that: 1) This is very faithful to the games. 2) If this was a real live case, with Phoenix being the defence lawyer, the fact that prosecution couldn't disprove the possibility that book was placed there internally by the person taking the photo would be enough to bring reasonable doubt, which would be enough for Phoenix to win... right until the library sticker has been pointed out. But the point is that in real life prosecution would need to disprove the possibilities they don't believe possible, while the defence lawyer would be the person bringing up the other likely possibilities, which is the other way around in this case.

The plot twist with the sticked made me, audibly gasp. it felt like watching a danganronpa trial

Seeing people playing out Ace attorney like court sessions on tumblr is something I have been blessed with and will now forever live in my brain. I love the Ace attorney fandom

Japanese batman manga on a layaway hold shelf ? That makes more sense because they do not need to be sorted in any order beyond what day to return it to the correct shelf but it is still silly.

The library sticker was the first thing I noticed. Then again, I was a page... Didn't make it past probationary, but I did work in a library. *Edit For some reason Grammarly changed "The" to "THe." Spellwrecker once again.

OBJECTION: to both of them, actually. Here’s my hypothesis. Four people all read the same Na Na manga, and one person borrowed a Batman comic. Then they returned those books in the *returned books shelf* (lots of libraries have those) and the librarian thought it would be hilarious to do this. Explanation for the papers: the four manga readers remembered to bring their library receipts (as you should) but the Batman reader simply didn’t.

I've never clicked on a video so fast my fingers hurt they burn from the speed at which I clicked on this video the sound barrier has not just been broken but shattered by my finger clicking on my mouse currently the shockwave from my initial click is traveling towards me but I am typing so fast that it has not yet hit me and I may have time to get out of the way before it destroys my body however this is not a certain possibility.

It’s still possible that the Batman comic was placed there for the shot. The hold paper still can’t be determined, and the fact the book didn’t come from outside the library doesn’t matter since they could’ve simply looked for a Batman comic after seeing the hold shelf.

I'm sure the pair of them in this post perfectly resemble somebody's last two braincells at 3AM.

I'm amazed that no one pointed out it's a holds shelf until the end. And the sticker? I didn't even consider it because to me the issue wasn't whether or not the book belonged to the library, it was whether or not it belonged THERE.

I found this on Tumblr after you made the video, but before I watched it, which is the best time to find a post you made a video about IMO. I supposed a better time would be before you made a video, so I could be featured in it, but that hasn't happened as of yet.

About the library sticker on the Batman comic, couldn't it be from another section in the library, having the photographer change the comic to that shelf with the mangas to take the picture?

Not to mention that not being in alphabetical order has no bearing on the image- *the books were placed in that order intentionally* whether by the photographer or the librarian- or a third option, *the photographer was the librarian that placed them there* The thing is that the photographer could also be the librarian, the captioner, or a complete separate person, *we can’t know for certain*

Obviously this is a shelf for library holds and thus they wouldn't be in ABC order by title, but by the name of the person the book is on hold for.

This reminds me of tumblr people trying to find out the combination code of a door lock right up until someone pointed out that the light was green, therefore the door was already open

When you read manga series, you have to put them on hold or you won’t get to read them in order. If you walk into the library, they will have volumes 1, 3, 4, 7 and 36.

It would be someone like maya or larry pointing the last fact out too, making the -gay- Ace attorneys look even dumber

This is what happens every time people who don't know what they're talking about but are otherwise smart people argue with each other. Their capacity to THINK is on full display, they just don't know anything. It is sadly also common for people to fail spot checks and have to figure things out the hard way just like this.

*OBJECTION!* The fact that the books are on a hold shelf most assuredly cements the fact that these library books were placed there specifically for a picture. After all, if they were on a hold shelf, _someone must have ordered them._ Therefore we must ask ourselves why these books are in this specific order. It’s far too coincidental for the books to have been ordered by separate parties, which leads us to one simple conclusion… *_The perpetrator ordered these books deliberately, so that they could take a picture of them!_* *TAKE THAT!*

I am proud to have known about the hold receipts and library stickers. However, the hold case should have a lot more books- unless it's an incredibly unused library. The batman's lack of paper suggests that it was not on the hold shelf. Most likely the person who put the books on hold (or someone who decided to borrow them, maybe even a librarian) took the Nana books and then grabbed the batman one. Perhaps the batman book was less popular, or there were always batman comics to choose from, but Nana was popular and was frequently taken. In order to get three at a time, they only needed to hold three and hope that they could get them all at the same time. That means that it would have been a good idea to put all of the Nana's on hold, regardless of number, to make sure they could get three within a hold date. They just had to wait and hope that they weren't put back on the shelf before the third could come along. This may have taken them a long time to do.

This just made me think about how, in Ace Attorney, all you would need to do is prove that the accusations to your defendant cannot be proven.

I volunteered at a library before and before they argued if there was paper in the batman book at all, I was just thinking “those books are on hold for someone. Maybe the paper is just inside it bc the paper is small.” AND I WAS RIGHT

OBJECTION! Could it not just be the reservation plank though? Let's assume this library works the same as my local library. The only planks in the ENTIRE library with papers sticking out is the reservation plank. The plank where people pick up the books they wanted to reserve because: 1, The book was loaned by a differant person already. Or 2, The book wasn't present in this library and had to be ordered from a DIFFERANT one! Therefore, while it is still the most likely that the book was delibrately placed there for the picture, there is still a non-insignificant chance that this WAS put their just as a library joke. It would explain BOTH the differant library stickers AND the non-Alphabetical placement. As either the manga's or the batman comic, or both for that matter, could come from a differant library then the one they are present in. And those planks are ordered based on the name of the person who reserved the books! It even explain why the plank is so empty! Whether or not it's the same person who reserved the books or not doesn't matter, just that they have the same first letter(s) of their last name! [I just wanted to add this because I'm currently making heavy use out of it because my library doesn't have the books I want. They don't have the Grishaverse books, nor the Witcher books. Apparently Baptism of Fire isn't even avalable in English (which I started reading the series in). So now I have to read it in Dutch and all the names will be differant. Sadge :(.] EDIT: I COULD KISS YOU WORLDSENTWINED IF I WAS THE TYPE OF PERSON TO DO SUCH A THING!!!! I should have just let the video continue. Oh well, nothing lost, essay gained, net positive.
