My favourite part of this review.... each logo on the watch represents a leg of the Octopus. Why Phobios? Why? I would give this one a fail until they design a better watch strap, cant stand this standing type. A sailcloth rubber combo has been my go to choice. Nice honest review my friend. Keep up the great reviews.
I was thinking of getting this watch now I know I am at some point. It is gorgeous. Definitely much nicer on camera than it is in the photos. Amazon provides this thing pops. I really dig it. Great review Eric.
Thank you for this review. I love this brand! I have a leviathan, a voyager and eagle ray. Next one will be the great wall. Great value and finished very well. Btw thats a king octopus. An angry king kraken 😂
I love the look of all phobios watches they look great and they are a work horse type of watches...I've never had any problems with any of my watches from phobios so I've never contacted them...but your write they should have gotten back to you...keep up the great content Eric.👍
Overall I like this watch quite a bit, though I do wish it was 1-2mm thinner (200M WR would be fine). I'd probably use one of my JUELONG FKM straps with it. I've bought a bunch of those over the last few years in various styles & colors in the 20mm and 22mm sizes. It's too bad you didn't hear back from Phoibos, but I'm sure if you had a problem with your watch you would have gotten assistance with that. I think their QC is quite good. Zelos, for example, has fairly poor QC in my experience - although they _are_ very good about making it right if there's a problem. Phoibos also gives you a very well executed bezel with a smooth action, pleasing sound & feel. You can spend thousands on a diver & get an inferior bezel. Anyhow, thanks for the review. 🍻👍
Hello friend, I have seen the GMT model and I wanted to ask you, is it worth buying the GMT or this model? The GMT on the website tells me that it would not arrive here in Spain until August, thanks friend
Hello diegom-g7187. I have not seen the GMT of this watch so i can not comment on that watch but i just reviewed a GMT of another watch (the islander Port Jefferson) and my take away was personally, i don’t have a need to track multiple time zones. So the GMT function did not turn out to be a benefit for me personally. I think the biggest question to ask yourself. Are you thinking of getting a GMT to track multiple time zones ( and do you have a need for that) or do you simply like the look and technical aspect of a GMT. Hope that helps.
@@EricsEverydayWatches @EricsEverydayWatches Thank you very much for your attention friend and response, really I would barely use the GMT option, I think I'm going to buy the model without GMT, thank you and congratulations for videos
Ive had my wave master no date since its first release 2018 i think it was and i can honestly say its one of my favorite watches its got the odd scuff and scratch which would be expected but works perfectly still looks good and punches well above its weight in build quality, great watch ! I believe i will stilll have and use it for years to come definitely buy if you're looking for the price you won't be disappointed but definitely get the metal strap the heavy weight you will get used too
Definitely too bad that it doesn’t come with a stainless steel bracelet option I do like FKM, rubber straps, and if I have the same issues with this one that you do, I would likely swap it out for an FKM
Greetings, I have had a Phoibos Wavemaster with a metal bracelet for more than two years and the wearing experience is positive, the watch is practically like the first day, even the logical micro scratches derived from use are very few and barely noticeable. Everything is in order. The only complaint I could have is a bracelet with edges, if not sharp, then annoying, and something similar happens with the relief of the back cover. Great watch, impossible to find more for that amount.
i bought one several years ago, i like it, but my bezel has massive backplay, the original "engineer bracelet" is very chunky i replaced it with a nice Horween leather strap.
Hello buijd1967. Bummer to hear about the bezel. Engineer bracelets look cool but I have to agree with you, they are Chunky! I bet it looks great on a leather strap. 👍
Yes it looks so good, I'm really surprised none of the reviews of the watch include this combo. I have never seen a watch better suited to an orange strap than this one.
@@EricsEverydayWatches, thanks. Pity they don't list what type of rubber. I am partial to caoutchouc and vulcanized rubber. There are also many types of synthetics.
@@EricsEverydayWatches, thanks. However, I checked out the website and they don't sell straps individually and that's what I wanted, not the watch. Incidentally, I saw lint on the strap which most likely means it has some silicone in the mixture. I don't care for silicone at all. 😉
I love my Phoibos Wavemaster (green dial) bit agree that the rubber strap is not great. I have an average wrist size and feel it's too small as well as uncomfortable. Nice review.
I have the exact same one as you and it only just makes it around my7.5 inch wrist. I looked up the Phoibos site to see if they sold bracelets for this model but I couldn't find an accessories page.
@@Pray1989 here is a link to their website. Looks like the GMT takes a 20mm strap. phoiboswatch.com/products/phoibos-wave-master-gmt-200m-automatic-diver-watch-py049f-yellow.html
