Phone Dock Delete - Storage Tray Install BMW E90/91/92/93 

For anyone who encounters the third wire that is not pictured in this video, I just figured out how to unplug it. First you have to take off the back panel where the AC comes out for the back seats. Then once you have that off, there will be a light blue connector on the right side near the bottom. Once you unplug that blue connection, you can pull the entire phone dock assembly out. This took a long time to figure out and I haven’t seen any tutorials that cover this step so I thought I’d leave a comment for anyone that encounters this. - David

Thanks for the video. The OEM phone dock is such a waste and I’m so glad that I was able to get rid of it. My E90 BMW dock also had the third cable but I just unplugged that with the others and installed the tray. Phone connect to the car bluetooth just as before.

Thanks for the video, really helpful. However came across a third cable that was also plugged into the cradle, which seems to be an additional antenna installed in later models and F30. It was really tricky to get out so it made the whole process much more time consuming. But got there in the end and it tray is so much useful and weirdly brings the car up-to-date.

That's essentially another usb port u can connect the bmw aux and USB input and run a wireless charging pad under the rubber tray.... Cool show off factor and wireless charging aswell as storage space
