Have you visited the Outer Banks? If so I would be curious to know what your favorite spot is!

Ocracoke and Hatteras are my faves.

The trip all the way down to Ocracoke is a must. Pristine beaches and a quiet little town make for a great experience. There are no chain stores, restaurants or hotels, it's all local. Some of the darkest skies you will ever see.

I'm adding it to my bucket list to hit in 2024! I've heard a lot of great things about it

It’s “Body island lighthouse”, due to all the shipwrecks and “bodies”. Also, nags head originated from how pirates would tie a lantern to a horses neck to lure ships into the shallows ;)

You have to go down south to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. That is the tallest lighthouse on the east coast.

Thank you I am vacationing in Kitty Hawk in mid May just for some Milky Way photography and I had not even thought about Corolla.

Be sure to visit the Buxton Woods costal reserve next to the HATTERAS Lighthouse. Also the Native American museum and Natural History Center in the village of FRISCO just south of the HATTERAS lighthouse. Once you cross over on the ferry to OCRACOKE island there is a pony “pen” along route 12 as you head to the village of OCRACOKE. Once in the. Village of OCRACOKE lots of historic pirate stuff…apparently the place Blackbeard was finally captured. Love anyplace south of KDH…it’s far less developed then KDH and points north.

Thanks for those recommendations! I have plans to tent overnight on Ocracoke in July, will hopefully get a chance to see the milky way with how little light pollution there is down there

Great video Bradley! So much great information in this one. I've never been to OBX before but my mom just moved to Myrtle Beach so I would like to make a trip to the Outer Banks when I visit her next. Some really fantastic images in this video, as well as some beautiful drone footage. Really enjoyed it!

Thanks so much glad you enjoyed it! You should give it a try in the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) when it's less crowded, beautiful scenery all around
