A photography audit of Widnes Police Station, Cheshire. After a tense encounter initially, the police were respectful and though they suggested their concerns regarding photography, left me to continue photographing.
You are the best uk auditor I have watched, you explained yourself in a concise and humorous way, thoroughly covering the ins and outs of photographers rights, without being antagonistic for the sake of drama.Outstanding!!!
There are very, very few guys like Focus Pocus that can hold diplomacy enough to engage with the police, to do what he wants to do, without getting arrested. Hat off to you, sir.
Love the way you interact and handle yourself and giving them nothing. There are only a few auditors in the UK, maybe videos like this will encourage others.
M&M News UK- Yeah right. How about them getting a proper job rather than wasting the time of the police and tax payers money. If he is a tax payer then he is even more stupid then being credited for. There is a thing called communication where he could have asked to film and avoided all this. Hats off to to the police and to the military who protect us while we sleep.
"I wouldn't be doing my job" .... you're not doing your job, your job is to arrest criminals not to harass the public for partaking in a legal activity.
They need your name because your name in CAPITALS is the legal FICTION eg your last name in CAPITALS that you the human representative for and would represent in court. Without knowing your legal FICTION they cannot investigate you or prosecute you. Your legal FICTION is effectively the Police case "starting point".
Make no mistake the police know you can do what you do, what they're hoping is that you don't know your rights and give them all the information they want
10:35 Please tell Constable Bollocks that I will donate 20 pounds to his favorite charity if he can provide one instance in which an attack on a police station in the UK was preceded by the attacker openly photographing the station in broad daylight. He might also avail himself of any psychiatric help available to deal with his obsessive need to determine who everybody is and what they are doing 10:00. It must be hell on him to walk down the street not knowing who all the other people on the street are and what they are doing.
Second time around binge watching Focus Pocus. Excellent work Sir! Easily the best auditor out there followed by DJ and PTTP. All the other gobby ones could take lessons from them on how an audit should be done.
I still come back to these videos, because the reason why you are the only auditor not to have been arrested is because you are sharp enough under pressure . Reminding them your rights and the law rather than arguing with them keeps the temper down and seems to pay off well. Good job 🥳👍👍
I fail to see a correlation between being sharp and the outcome of being arrested. That’s not a slight on FP, rather than the police can and do arrest people indiscriminately, sadly
Facial recognition would be used to detect criminals, so unless you're a criminal you have nothing to worry about. It can also be used to find missing people.
Best auditor in the UK… by far! Thanks for being smart and not antagonising, this actually has a chance to educate the police for the sake of us content creators out their on the streets
I Love love love, how you're polite and respectful. and Jokey. You're not an idiot activist, goading them into doing something. I really enjoy your calm educating manner. Please don't ever change. :-)
@@frankhornby6873 It is his job to be polite and respectful. Their job is also to investigate crime. They are actually very poor at both of those things. In my experience they are much better at protecting paedophiles and criminals.
its just amazing we use to get scared even in public places. You have told about the law that such photographs can be taken from public place, and there is law about it, Thanks. Once I got hooked i had see your several videos.. very different kind of channel ,auditors in uk...read all the discussions about facial recognition and photos etc Thanks ,Keep up
I wish I could like this video every time I watch it! Incredible stuff that I find myself rewatching all of FPs content on rotation. I must have viewed this about 5 times now!
Didn't hear about any satellite being shot down either, you would get better images of any police station or any other secure sites off Google's sites from the comfort of your own armchair, even the schematics of the buildings and grounds plus if you search for media footage they put out without themselves knowing about it. They'll have to wake up and get with the advancement to the tech on offer today. They are like a ninety year-old with a smart phone, know how to make a call and that's all.
7:35 So he's asking for your details and what he's doing, in a 'general conversation', that's a bit weird for someone who is supposed to be on duty catching criminals. I wonder if that's how he approaches people in the pub when he's off duty.
Focus pocus is the man !!! Lol ive watched many of you auditors now and iv gotta say you articulate yourself well. Make them tell you how obviously stupid they look
“This is a high security building” (and we’re really paranoid to see you outside with your camera...) I’d want to ask if it’s high security, what are they worried about. Tell them if they’re so scared, to go back inside and assume the fetal position on the floor under their desks. I like the way you talk when approached- keeping calm and not answering personal questions. Some auditors explain too much but l like you saying it’s for recreation. That’s more than enough reason to do what you do. The cops are paranoid “in this day and age”. Keep up the good work and stay safe! Subbed.
There are no powers prohibiting the taking of photographs, film or digital images in a public place. Therefore members of the public and press should not be prevented from doing so. I seek your support in reminding your officers and staff that they should not prevent anyone from taking photographs in public. Unnecessarily restricting photography, whether for the casual tourist or professional is unacceptable and it undermines public confidence in the police service. Once an image has been recorded, the police have no power to delete or confiscate it without a court order. Andrew Trotter OBE QPM BSc (Hons), Chief Constable
In 2013 I paid to go on a college camera course. Part of the first introductions was where you can take a photo. I bought a Nikon d7100 went out to do light trails as part of the course , the amount of times the pigz stopped me was outrageous. I gave up in the end . Never finished the course . I think to this day I've only taken 500 photos.
Love watching your interactions. Sadly it makes you realise the standard of Policing and their lack of common sense and intelligence in modern day Police Force. Standards much lower these days
Always love watching your videos. I know this isn't one your latest ones! You're very knowledgeable and informative, a touch of humour and generally seem like you're in control of most interactions. Well done, sir. Keep it up and post some more!!!
Yeah stumbled on this channel and it’s gold watched all your vids in one session Your dry humour and ability to make every police or security look like idiots, is second to none 😂
You're good mate. I watch channels like this from both sides of the Atlantic, and your attitude and mix of humour is a rare and refreshing blend (sounds like a tea advert). Well done, I'm sick of hearing hysterical little Americans shouting as if they were being rogered with a bayonet. Oh - a special word on your editing - first class.
They came up against the law which is why it is so important to know the law and your rights before interacting with any halfwit cop. The law will protect you and when you meet cops you will be the only one who knows it!
So I've seen all your videos twice, at least. I really admire the way you handle yourself. You're always calm and cool with everyone you come in contact with. Always looking forward to that next video. Cheers from Canada.
In 1919, a riotous mob of 400 Canadian soldiers laid siege to Epsom Police Station, and, the Station Sergeant, Thomas Green, was killed. He is buried in the cemetery, in Ashley Road, near Epsom Downs. For details, see:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epsom_Riot
THERE ARE FAR LESS TERROR ATTACKS IN THIS DAY AND AGE IN MAINLAND BRITAIN AS THERE WERE IN THE 70'S 80'S AND 90'S! i WAS FOREVER NOT ALLOWED TO GET MY TRAIN TO WORK OR LEFT SITTING ON A TRACK SOMEWHERE BECAUSE WE COULD NOT ENTER A STATION DUE TO THREATS. I NEVER SEEN ONE COP STOP A PERSON WITH A CAMERA!
Doesn’t mean it wouldn’t happen no one would’ve thought someone would of rammed a car into a load of people across a bridge in london cause it’s never happened before so it can happen
Well by that logic you have to concede that anything can happen, at any time, anywhere, so explain why the people in cars aren't stopped driving past police stations, and pedestrians, dog walkers, pram pushers ... surely they could be terrorists because "it can happen".
Yes excellent, amazing how you, as a member of the public, have to tell the Police what the law is. Incredible. Thanks for doing this and educating me in my rights.
Tell the cop that In this day and age it's important that people video in public as much as possible as you never know what terrorist activity is afoot and you know that's valuable footage when the police start asking the public to share recordings.
You sir are fast becoming one of my favorite auditors I absolutely love your line about the IRA it's a stop em in their tracks line Though I'm surprised some of the younger cops have even heard of them Keep up the good work and stay safe out there
The policeman was just trying to get H.P. to agree with him with a situation that would never occur, and then, he tried to justify that scenario 😅...He knew he had lost and was trying to save face due to his ego - I've noticed police always want to smile and joke with you when they know they can't win.
In this day and age when Police are violating citizen rights right and left and every other video on RU-vid? As opposed to another day and age that we were not all alive ? This statement is meant for them to defend their over reaction to law abiding citizens. Sorry to go on Joe Jay, your comment was perfect and thought provoking ! Thank you
humm maybe you need to read up on th European data protection ... if he makes public what he films without express consent from the people in it he IS breaking the law.
Their training is crap. 'whats your name'. 'where are you from'. 'how long are you going to be here'. 'How did you get here'. 'we are just having a chat'. Embarrassing.
Funny thing happened to me one time some years ago. Where I live, in Northern Ireland, now read that again - in NORTHERN IRELAND - I wanted to take some photos of a new station that had been built in my local town. So one fine evening I raced round after work with my camera, and started taking photos. A few minutes later the security gate swung open, and out came the sergeant. Thinking to myself, "hello, this should be good", he came over with a big smile on his face and asked if I would be interested in seeing inside the building. It was a new station, with a structure designed to direct bomb blasts away from those inside, indeed ninety percent of it was underground. So he took me round the whole building, letting me snap away at anything I fancied, and when I was finished we shook hands and off I went. I would be surprised if he knew me, I certainly didn't know him, but I found him nothing but polite and helpful at all times, and again, this was in Northern Ireland. I wonder if that could happen here, why it can't happen elsewhere..?
Freedom of Press Drinking Game. Whenever the following is heard, you must drink: 1. In this day and age. 2. Suspicious behavior. 3. Terrorism. 4. Up to something. 5. Obstructing my investigation. Bonus, must down remaining liquid: Same question asked 3 times in a row.
So if a person has a good photographic memory, it would create a suspicion if you where caught looking at the building for any amount of time, but a camera is different, how?
Police NEVER just have a General Conversation with the Public , they constantly fish for your details . Does he come out and Challenge a dog walker or someone just walking or a train spotter .
I don't personally encourage this auditing activity, because it has the potential to land you in undeserved hot water. However, unlike so many other auditors, you're never aggressive or intimidating and you take the time to explain why you're there - to do an audit to evaluate the police's knowledge on public photography. I think the copper aided the smooth flow of the encounter too as he did seem aware of photog rights and he could clearly ascertain you weren't a threat. Well done!
Brilliant mate, love your style - easy, assured and correct on everything. After seeing the agitation on the net some people wrongly resort to, you and AB have the tone just right.
In a society that has passed laws to continually film and photograph the general public in all aspects of their daily lives...including listening in on their telephone calls and checking out their personal data they have a problem with a member of it filming them...
I once rang the police to report a kid on a model riding down a footpath on a model past an old lady. Was told to ring 111 instead as I had also managed to film it. Police turned up about 2 days later to pick up the CD. Absolute discrace!
