Several officers in Aurora, Colorado, have been fired over a photo that reenacted a chokehold their colleagues used on Elijah McClain, who died in police custody in 2019.
@0:35 "... it shows a lack of Morals, Values and Integrity... and a Judgement that I can no longer trust..." "...but We are hiring again, so please apply within... High School Diploma or GED required..."
Law enforcement attracts sadistic male psychopaths. and females who are attracted to these nutjobs. No amount of rules, regulations, procedures, or training can fix that.
Tell me about it. These pigs can move to another state and get hired as an officer. This, along with not being charged for killing another human being. The system is so flawed it's pathetic.
True. It attracts people who have never held power. People who were bullied in high school and they get so power hungry that they run into the police force in order to have power over other people
@@salvagemonster3612 you are correct! She dumps the news on a Friday evening and weekend, they “she” knows what she is doing! Why shut off the Twitter feed? Well she states they had a missing child and the Twitter comments had to be turned off. What about the child and comments related the that? Come on, very transparent, yep we see right they you!
@@salvagemonster3612 You’re right. I’ve found a lot of s**t on this chief here and I think she only did this because she had too. Sadly a lot of people are puppets and believe whatever they hear and see
They’ll get their jobs back, most cops that get fired for something like this get their job back within the year because of the police unions. They have more protection than almost any other public service job.
Why is she the interim only? Sounds to me like she’s a leader with all the qualities and it appears she holds officers to the highest standards. We need leaders who act just like this lady!
I Love this Woman. She is having a difficult time telling this story. She is genuine. We need hundreds of her to lead police districts. Thank you for keeping it real for once.❤️
They need to be licensed, if a lawyer of doctor is reprimanded, it is reported to a national board and their license to practice is taken. People need to be held individually accountable
She’s a damn good chief. The officer who turned it in needs a medal. They should award good officers because much of what happens internally is covered up out of fear of retaliation. The cops who thought this was funny will get and are getting the karma they deserve. May God be with Elijah’s family and give them comfort.
WOWWW, she's overwhelmed & filled with anxiety too! Thank GOD for her swift action, compassion & empathy to Elijah & his family! She's a stand up police officer & I would trust her with my life!
Yes... she is having a very hard time controlling her emotions about this situation. But remained professional. The real police are appreciated... we need more!!!
Hello friends. I commend this officers words. Her emotions can be heard and heartfelt. The fact that she took the victims family into consideration was very professional. Continue making good noise!! OneLove.
@@overlyover5253 no really. If I can give a little insight. It is a long and hard process to be able to qualify and be accepted into the academy. Weeks of study and sacrifice by them and their family if they have one. They have to memorize dialogs, rules, laws by certain time. Fill out forms every day not allowed to make one mistake as they are given only one form. If they make a mistake they go through a disciplinary process. Their partner's involvement is required as a support system which is necessary because of danger of exhaustion and also help with the requirements of maintaining uniform conditions standards. I know individuals whom have become a great addition for the police and serve their department their community and their family's with integrity courage honesty morally respectful, and continues to do so. Those that don't respect the commitment and promise they made through the training and teachings, might not been guided by the right reasons or motives when they decided join. Or might've allowed themselves to change their ideals influenced by other immature irresponsible, partners in their department. Which is disgusting and like the Chief said, dishonorable to the rest whom are trying to to the right thing. I applaud the decition of the Chief to take the disciplinary action she needed to take without hesitation. That's what needs to be done in every police department. You cannot ignore the facts and evidence that is in front of you in order to protect a few criminal individuals that can affect the whole police department and a community that relays in your guidance by example. Thank you Chief.
Shes a good cop because she has FEELINGS, ya know empathy, compassion, love, and all the other emotions us humans should have. I dont get how people can be so cruel and heartless
Yes very well said. If All American judged like this this place will be a better place and cops will slow down on killing people with fear of consequences. I still feel like the consequences need to come with mandatory jail time and not a mere 10 year do 6 and go home for good behavior give at least 25 Stiff. That would surely change their behavior of the lawless police officers.
They took photos at his memorial site! So disrespectful and callous! Thank the Lord justice was finally served for Elijah! Just ghastly! This police chief said the right word “Despicable acts”!!
This woman is impressive. She explains the reasons behind her actions. She shows her resolve and articulates well. She's organized, controlled, and exhibits good leadership traits.
wow, you never worked a day in this kind of work. widespread misconduct doesn't just happen. leadership heavily influences how grunts behave. this is just damage control.
Every Cop that has ever Murdered Anyone, Anywhere should have their pictures posted on every media that exists everyday without ceasing! That'll curve their Murderous activity!
@@42svb58 @42SVB You are right. Widespread misconduct doesn't just happen. It starts below the current and is allowed to breathe and spread. It takes time for any cancer to spread. Dark humor is often a part of working in any type of para-military organization, but once you are publicly caught, you are made an example of. If your Sargeant caught you, he might not say anything, might chuckle or might say cut it out and delete it. Obviously, once you send it to one person, there is a strong likelihood that others will get it and possibly leak. Doesn't matter if it's damage control. The Sargeant received a complaint. He was smart enough to realize that he better get ahead of it. It still sends a message that even amongst their own, some of their own will cross the Blue Line....and for the public to start trusting their police officers, that is a good thing.
When you feel exhausted is the time to reflect on those that have struggled before us, Fredrick Douglass, Harriett Tubman, Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Dubois, Nat Turner, Marcus Garvey, Malcom X, Jackie Robinson, M.L.King and on and on. We must constantly reinvigorate ourselves as we move forward, overcoming any and all obstacles. No matter what, we cannot and will not be stopped.
So Sad.. the Thought that that innocent scared kid was killed like that is heartbreaking.. but then to be evil enough to laugh at such a thing makes every March, riot or rally in favor of protecting innocent life totally worth it. #SayHisName
That will be a non starter when bargaining. They'll go on strike, with pay, if their superiors bring up unpaid leave for non criminal investigations or misdemeanor charges. When people unionize they get many protections. The cops have bastardized those protections.
@MIDWEST MOE , Agreed! To much bureaucracy invovled. The whole system of policing needs to be reformed to hold civil servants liable for their actions!
I am in a public sector union and have served as steward. I agree whole heartedly with this chief and appreciate her decision. It may take additional bureaucracy to get them removed. That is for the protection of good officers should they be falsely accused but this needed done.👏👏👏
Yes! This is how change happens! Good officers reported the incident and a good, strong chief took action. There is still a lot of work to do, but this is a good start.
@burningfeet 57 you're really awful. Imagine thinking no white person or cop can genuinely be pained by such a terrible occurrence. You really wanna believe everyone is evil.
People who make ridiculous unjustified calls to police for “suspicious” people need to be held accountable! They cause these deaths and they need to be responsible.
I hear you, but the police needs to help to higher standard if they respond to see the only thing suspicious is the person’s color and don’t intervene.
Hope these ex cops are not allowed to be officers anywhere..... everytime I see that young man's face I cry 😢😭😫 straight out just cry ....... he was a sweet young man and they filled him with fear ....... may there God have no mercy on them
@johnekizomba 98% ?? Did you see the protests when numerous cops went wild arresting or beating or driving through or running over the press & peaceful protestors or just attacking old ppl & not single cop in a group of 50 or 100 tried to stop or say a word or even tried to help ? 98% really seems massively over blown... Over the years many retired cops have come out discussing massive corruption in their individual departments... So yeah... That figure seems very unrealistic... There are good cops yeah, but they are probably the minority..
johnekizomba And you know when that started? When police began attacking the protesters while it was peaceful. there are dozens of recordings of them being peaceful until police intervention. so literally nothing you can say can disprove that since theres literal proof.
She did her job but the one that was able to resign got away because he can now go work at another department. He should have been fired like the other 3.
I can respect this Chief of Police, she is no nonsense and the way she thought to get in touch with the family before things went public....much respect! She should be made permanent chief.
So right - in my work, we employ people/people. You can teach a person the job but you can not teach a person how to be a decent human being, that’s inherent.
I respectfully disagree. Every bit of training should serve at least in part to teach and emphasize basic human decency, in jobs dealing in life and death training should vastly exceed *basic* decency. Much like common sense recent events clearly demonstrate that it isn't as innate as we think it is, and it must be taught and reinforced lest we take it for granted until it's gone.
@@duddude321 you sound ignorant af wow lol, You cant teach human decency, you either have it or not. Someone dies and you need to be taught not to laugh and mock them with pictures? You and those cowards who killed him make me hate my specie.
How that POS got cleared from MURDERING THAT KID, is beyond me; other than complicity. Former LE, Colorado. My family has a cumulative amount of about 60 years LE in CO, this case makes me sick.
@@kalebblack9588 YES SHE IS SHOWING BECAUSE SHE'S DOING, YES BLACKS ARE WE'VE BEEN BUT OTHERS HAVE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT LIKEWISE ESPECIALLY IF WE'RE TIED TO THE SYSTEM THEY'VE CREATED FOR BLACKS..
Now imagine if every police chief could take decisive humanitarian action this way. She took the decent, logical action and explained her thought process clearly.
Alleviate police unions and hold rouge cops accountable. Unfortunately that is not a reality because the police force is to "crime" out of white neighborhoods and contained and maintained in the ghettos.
@@reignlove8741 Hello there, I said it CAN. Meaning there are conditions to be met first. But she gave us a glimpse of what true decency looks like when a person can empathise with the pain of others of a different race
@@catrashoo They can't get jobs in Colorado as any part of law enforcement. Vanessa Wilson Chief Police did an excellent job reacting fast and harsh and holding her ground. Heart of GOLD
I applaud this chief for her transperancy and swiftness in dealing with these ex officers. We need to continue to see these kinds of ramifications for bad officers nationwide.
@@PoppONayaShelly We need better police and accountability, as well as defunding to allocate to other areas in order to deal with social issues cops aren't mentally equipped to handle.
She was very transparent and I admire the way she is handling this situation. To that "good" officer that reported this disgusting, sicking act..we need more of you.
The next thing to do is take away their police licenses cause they should never work anywhere ever again as an officer. With this one act they've shown the world that they haven't got the right mind set to be in a position of authority. Ever again.
Because they get black balled from the game. If someone whistleblows no station will ever hire them. Career wise, it's worse than being fired like this. The good ones might want to call the bad ones out but they think about their career to feed their families and pay for the roof over the house.
Laurens County South Carolina cover up their public corruption on every level of goverment, but really it's all over South Carolina. This is a sick white privilege state 😒
Before this I was living with fear and anxiety as a black woman. I just gave birth to a beautiful black baby boy,but the thing is,I found myself being anxious about his life as a minority. Watching this lady giving a speech condemning those "cops" really soothed me. Probably because I realize that it's no longer BLK people Vs the world, but it's actually the world (including good cops) Vs racists. People of colour are not alone afterall,my son WILL have a bright future with his right to dignity and opportunity acknowledged. He is not alone. I feel so much hope now💓 God bless you ma'am 🙏🏿
@@garyg7647 I just realized that these cops weren't the ones that killed Elijah McClain. I'm glad they got fired though. The reason being is, YOU MAKE FUN OF HOW A YOUNG, PEACEFUL MAN DYING UNDER THE HANDS OF THE POLICE? That kind of mockery shows how comfortable they may be with their interactions with other Black people that they may encounter as police officers.
Where is the trial for this young mans killers/mockers???? Where is Elijah’s justice??? Those killers get fired??? A slap on the wrist and that is the end of that?!?!?!
I want to know what else happened. This young man did not even commit any crime and there was no reason to even be bothering him to begin with. It broke my heart when I saw the video because I am the Mother to an Autistic teen who struggles with communication and one of my fears is precisely this. I have seen cases of young men been misunderstood because they are not been able to explain themselves, answer fast enough or even understand what is happening because they have not comitted any crimes but someome decides they are 'suspicious' because they are just been their atypical selfs, not even hurting a fly.
The Chief shows real sincerity, empathy, and dedication to integrity here. Reassuring in troubling times. And her transparency and forthrightness is refreshing.
We need to keep good officers in the job if we want to reform the the police. There are some very good public prosecutors who would make excellent AGs.
Not hey won’t. Under the new Colorado law if an officer is fired they lose their police certificate and can’t be a police officer in the state anymore.
Good for her for standing on integrity and for what’s right and recognizing the effect her reaction could have on law enforcement across America. She selflessly thought of her bros n sis in blue across the states. She should be proud to wear that badge with honor! 👏🏽
