Great video! Another common way to order, at least in mexico is "te encargo de...". Also, its very common to use adios to great people as you pass them on the street. Its like a hello and goodbye at the same time. Think of it as saying hi as you walk by, but you arent going to stop and talk. Great stuff that no one teaches, it took me years to discover everthing you taught in 8 mins lol.

Yep, "te encargo" is another good one + that use of "adiós" is common too! I actually wanted to ask you a favour, Rodney... I'll shoot you an email tomorrow

Adding “por favor” to any request will pretty much correct for any perceived unintentional rudeness.

At timestamp 1:37, would "¿A cómo da la manzana?" also be appropriate, especially if I'm speaking to someone much older than me?
@spanishunraveled
@spanishunraveled 7 дней назад
Yep, that would actually be more appropriate if you were speaking to someone older than you :) We didn't go into all the nuances in this video, but will make one on "tú" + "usted" v.soon. As an aside, I'd say the easiest + possibly the best option in Mexico is "¿A cómo están las manzanas?"

So, what IS the right way a despedirse de alguien?
@spanishunraveled

"Hasta luego" is VERY common in shops and/or more formal settings + you can use "nos vemos", "ahí nos vemos", or "ahí nos vidrios" (a playful variant in Mex Spanish) with your pals :)

@spanishunraveled

Sí, "a cómo son" es coloquial :)
