Getting the vacuum process down right is a challenge. We go through a lot of acrylic sheets in order to get the mold production ready. Mostly use discontinued acrylic sheets until we get a couple of good hot tub shells.
Thanks for answering, I'm looking for Baldor but I only get three-phase motors. Could you provide a link to an image so I can fully understand what type of pump it is? It would be of great help. I built a thermoforming machine but I don't understand what pump I should use. There is some with a water ring, there are others with a different design, if you could send me a link with an image to appreciate it better that would be great, thank you
Hi! That will depend on the sheet material, thickness, and type. The sheet manufacturer will provide you with the forming temperature. Have a great weekend!
What is de mold made of.. I have a small vacuum forming machine. I want to work with acrylic. But I am afraid it will stick.. is the temp to low to stick. Or is it a special material. Or is the shrink enough to get it lose. Or you blow it out? Let me know. Many thanks
Hi. Mold is made out of tooling resin. Acrylic sheet will not stick if you follow manufacturers instructions. You just pull the formed sheet out. Hope this helps.
@@pacificahottubs4434 and much mbar vacuum you use.. I see the corners are really nice you use a sidechanel vacuum pump? Or something that goes lower mbar
@@pacificahottubs4434 is it a centrifugal Blower I know these types go to around 100 to 200 mbar. 0.1 0.2 bar Never tried acrylic before haha Many thanks 👍👍👍🙏
I believe they are inches, but it does not really matter. They are standard thickness for particular color sheets. You should consult Plaskolite (lucite) or another acrylic sheet manufacturer and let them know about your project, so they can steer you to a local supplier and see the terms available in your area. Good luck 👍🏼
Just kinda wondering could a 14' or 16' flats boat be made by vacuumed forming ? And I know they do kayaks so they must have a durable puncture resistant plastic that's used , how expensive would it be ( just estimate ) what are the molds made of ?
@@pacificahottubs4434 looking at the infrastructure it doesn’t look that’s in the US okay my bad I didn’t knew we had this kind of manufacturing as well work on some aesthetics dude it’s not the way how we work you need more cleanliness but I’ll give you credits for the technology
@@lightning9279 hahaha. That may be it. It is a manufacturing environment. We would not recommend having your lunch there. But certainly good enough for vacuum forming. Thanks for the back up :)
