As a result of cerebral palsy, Michael suffered spasticity in his muscles and an inability to move out of his wheelchair on his own. If left untreated, not stretching can cause further deterioration and loss of muscular strength. Dr. Kurian introduced healing methods of stretching that helped to strengthen Michael's muscles as well as his mental well-being!
