Physics Makes The Flash Unbelievably, Omnipotently Powerful

The Flash is the fastest man alive, able to outrun a speeding bullet! He's normally more of a sidekick on the Justice league, but does he deserve that spot? How powerful is he... really? If he turned to the side of evil... how much damage could Barry Allen do?
In this video I apply real world physics to the Speed of The Flash. Things like Newton's Laws of Physics, the Equation for Kinetic Energy by Leibnitz, and the Lorentz Factor to completely break the logic of the comics. It turns out that Barry Allen, aka The Flash, is possibly the most powerful character in DC's Justice League. A man who could destroy the world in an instant, not unlike Thanos.
Check out my other stuff, like This video about how the Fermi Paradox doesn't make much sense:

Also the fact that flash is infinitely faster than speed of light makes this more insane Image how much of the energy he would generate while moving at that insane speed

0:31 Barry Allen was NOT working on a particle accelerator. He was a CSI working in a crime lab. A bolt of lightning struck him and exploded a bunch of CSI chemicals all over him. The TV show mentioned the particle accelerator at S.T.A.R. labs exploding, during a thunder storm, causing his powers. They just swapped out the CSI chemicals with the particle accelerator. But he was still working in a CSI lab when it happened, not at S.T.A.R. labs.

Nah the friction problem is solved from the speed force aura. It’s like a shield that negates all the damage

As a physics major, you made me very happy that you included the relativistic equations too :> A fun sidenote: if he hypothetically could travel faster than the speed of light he would destroy causality. For example lets say he destroyed the world, the action he took that destroyed the world could happen AFTER he destroys the world.

Great wideo👍 I love that speed superpower can destroy entire Universe but it seems like it always given to supporting character and also do you think that one "bad" flash can like, destroy big chunk of mulitverse ...Well, if he can oneshot entire Univeresum with explosien(or just kill everybody on earth in 10min, 7:51 ) and then run to the other Universum , destroy it and repeat the cycle again ?
@thehayze259
@thehayze259 11 месяцев назад
Yeah, probably. Thing is, since kinetic energy from speed is exponential, and they would also get gradually harder and harder to catch, if there was one person who could run at even like... 0.1% the speed of light, and could also get from planet to planet, then they would be functionally unstoppable. 0.1% of Light Speed is 671,080 miles per hour. Nobody would be catching them. And while they couldn't Nukepunch yet, they could still just sort of... explode stuff.

Superman may be the strongest hero/being in the universe and beyond, but The flash is ''the most powerful'' if not the most dangerous.

He just has a barrier from the Speedforce that gives him and everyone around him Immunity to all the basic dangers that would come from his speed otherwise

So what if he just exited the speed force while moving at a high enough speed to nuke something? Like, he just exits it, and then hits something with all of his built up momentum. Genuine question, I know some stuff about The Flash, but not enough to answer that. Also, because of the air he's displacing, he would still create a massive sonic boom, and he could still create shockwaves by punching, due to displacing air with his fist Thanks for asking this though, I didn't know that.
@saiyanwarrior5056
@saiyanwarrior5056 11 месяцев назад
@@thehayze259Thanks for asking, I love needing out. Now the speed force moves air out of the way, in such a manner that it doesn't simple sunt it out of the way like say a bullet pulling the air apart, but is gentley moved harmlessly from his path to not induse the friction to become a fireball or a cause a sonic boom. As a result of the air not being treated as normal the air partials don't cause an explosion, or anywhere near an explosion the size enough of a nuclear detonation. Similarly he can effect other people, but in a way where he could pick and choose who he effects for the most part

4:32 This was addressed in Zack Snyder's Justice League. When Barry goes to save Iris, the concrete under his feet broke. 7:03-7:17 To be honest, it is the Speed Force which prevents all of that. I think you talked less about speed force in this video. The Flash comics involves less physics but Zack Snyder's Justice League and The Flash movie involves physics heavily.

Quick mention here. He's not omnipotent. The vast majority of times when the word "omnipotent" is used in fiction it's used wrong. Omnipotent means "all-powerful" meaning the only characters that could even be possibly considered to be omnipotent are literal author inserts, and even then only some of them.

@@JohnA.-sp9vb A good example is when Barry and Wally had a race, and that by itself was playing havoc with the very fabric of the Multiverse. Not to mention the time when he was able to knock around the Anti-Monitor, not only damaging his armor, but also knocking him through several universes. And those are only two examples of Flash's feats. So yes, he was very nerfed in the video. But I don't blame him, as comics in general can sometimes go full crazy about what a character can and can't do.
@JohnA.-sp9vb
@JohnA.-sp9vb 6 месяцев назад
@viniciushenrique6672 So, potentially erasing the universe just by hitting the speed of light is not good enough, huh? Just check 10:55 again It's obvious that the downright impossible stuff you mentioned would be possible in comics. But let's see the definition of ''Nerfed'' Nerf verb INFORMAL•US past tense: nerfed cause to be weak or ineffective. What is the meaning of Nerf in dictionary? (nɜːf ) slang. verb. 1. ( transitive) to reduce the effectiveness of (a character, weapon, skill, etc) in order to achieve a greater competitive balance. People also ask What does being nerfed mean? informal : to reduce the effectiveness of (something, such as a character, attribute, or weapon) in a video game(or in this case The Flash)

Anyway, I have to go fight one of my greatest nemeses now. His name is Snart. And he has a gun that freezes the ground, so I slip and fall. Wish me luck!"
