Q: What is sigma bond?
Ans: The axial overlapping of atomic orbitals generate sigma bonds. Axial overlapping of atomic orbitals is also known as head to head overlapping.
Q: What is pi bond?
Ans: The parallel overlapping of atomic orbitals generate pi bond. Parallel overlapping is also known as side to side overlapping.

I just finished my chem class for the day, and I was looking through multiple different videos explaining sigma and pi bonds. The videos would explain the concepts like as if it was a topic that was already understood. but you walked me through this so easily without watering down what was in my textbook! thank you!

Sir the mcq you did for bond strength... The bond strength (bond energy) between 1s and 2p will be the strongest? Isn't it ? Why 1s-2s Bcuz according to bond strength order P-P>S-P>S-S 🤔

I think its like this 👇👇 Yes its true that S-P bonds has high energy than S-S bonds BUT!! 1S and 2S bonds are more closer to each other than 1S and 2P bonds so when bond length decreases the bond energy increases thats y 1S and 2S bonds have More energy.

Sir,😭🥺please clear my doubt Sir, you said that bond energy is strongest in p-p Sigma bond. This was the energy strength ina Sigma bond (p-p>s-p>s-s) But in question at 5:56 you said that 1s-2s has more energy than 1s-2p. number of sigma bond =no. of atoms -1 no.of pi bonds =2N-n (N is no. of triple bond ,n is no. of double bond)
