I never knew the story about Andy Griffith's grandparent's living in Mayberry VA. That was a great story and I'd love to visit thier old store someday. I love the Andy Griffith show too.
Lynard skynyrd..Enjoy your stories of our Appalachia! There's no place like it.Hank Williams country boy can survive.I always have loved the Andy Griffith show and still do love it.
I agree the Andy Griffith show was and still is a fine show for family. As a child we all gathered around and watched the Waltons. My wife still watches reruns of them and they never get old. Although I'm a Yankee born and raised, i play guitar and banjo and ragtime and southern blues are my favorite styles. Something about the blues, either you have them or you don't. You can't play the blues technically and make them sound real unless you feel them and it comes from the heart and soul. Keep on playing and telling stories. I love this podcast!. MT
I currently live in a historic home. I jokingly call the town I live in Mayberry! The younger people don't understand but the older ones know exactly what I'm talking about! 😂
This is awesome! It's nice seeing you between videos, matching your unique voice with your face. I believe we'll sit down tonight and watch this lovely compilation with our kids. A nice cultural history lesson. Thanks for your hard work, it doesn't go unnoticed!
I love everyone of those stories. I love the Lynard Skynard song and the Hank Williams Jr. song. A 68 Camaro is my favorite car. I never owned one nor have I ever lived in a beautiful house. I've been judged for that all my life. People can be cruel, but I understood the meaning of the story. 😉
Entertainment at it's finest!! Thank you, once again! Look up the movie and the book, 'How Green Is My Valley?' It is an old story about a family in a coal mining town. In fact, the movie is black and white. But, it is oh so interesting. Thank you for all that you do, God bless.
Great music, great stories and I love the guitars. Thanks for the awesome video! I loved Gun Smoke and still watch it today.Of course it was reruns even when i watched it as a kid.
Thank you JD, love your stories! I don't know why but it was even better hearing these 3 again! I appreciated your addition of the Skynyrd and Daniels music the most!! You're a great storyteller and I love how it comes from your heart, thanks again sir!! ❤ from just an old Arkansan granny...
You guys read the book among the mountain laurel by Pauline Hensley Harbor it is a book that’s about Harley in Little town Smith Kentucky. You will really enjoy it.❤
@@TheAppalachianStoryteller hey JD, I was in a single vehicle accident Nov 6th and mangled my right foot. I had to have screws and rods put in but hey I can finally walk again. I love listening to you. To you and your family from Alabama much love. ❤️
Is there a story of a 'murderin man' who was successful in prison, got out was a pillar of society and never forgave himself even though all the others had? A prison within himself - always haunted by the 'Bogey Man.'
@@kellilambert7570 I'd be happy too, heck a dulcimer for me? Id love it and be happy to do an episode on it. Email me at theappalachianstoryteller@gmail.com and ill transfer shipping costs to you
I said the same thing, if it were my actual wall I would fix that... but im playing in front of a green screen and everything behind me is an illusion.
