I received this lock two years ago from 'tacitguardian' (ru-vid.com) - initial video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xUfGgNiEDZ0.html It was a found on the street and 'tacitguardian' was so kind to send this interesting lock from Australia to me in Germany. But just now I pulled this lock out again, made a key for it and repinned it. Now it's ready to go out and bring same joy to someone else. It now has no longer 6 standard pins but some very cool challenge lock pins and became an interesting pick.
Thank you - the locks works now beautifully with the key and new pins. These pins are wonderful pins from a great lock picking buddy ;-) I just recently received these pins. Haha, thank you very much my friend, this lock has become awesome with your pins :-)
Awesome old 83 Potti :), the blue color is really nice 😊. Funny stock bitting ;), the pins looked almost all the same. I have to smile every time you say ball bearing 😂😜. Very nice project 👍😊. Have a great weekend buddy 👋🦊.
Haha, "ball bearing" is always very difficult for me ;-) I was surprised to see all the short pins - now it has a more bit more ups and downs. The drivers in the lock are pretty cool now - hope you will see them soon yourself.
Haha, yes the original bitting was very funny. These kind of locks with markings and found somewhere are the best, specially when they can be repinned.
Loved this video ! Total disassembly of the lock was very interesting 👍🏻 I was hoping to see how you went about choosing new pins and then cut the key accordingly ... but since this is a challenge lock that you’re putting into circulation I guess you didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag ... this was a very interesting watch for me !
Thank you very much - I was thinking to film more about the pinning and filing progress but it was more about the cool lock and the repair itself. It's going to a buddy and I was trying not to reveal too much.
Can I borrow it for a while if you haven't promised it already? I will send it back when I film it :) great job on cleaning it and bringing it back to life!
for me i would have used home made pins that are all a mix of christmas tree/t-pin and spool all in one key pin bottom and driver top for every chamber top and bottom. all threaded. also 1 very low, 2 very high, 3 very low, 4 very high, 5 very low, 6 very high. i want to make it as hard of a lock as possible. and the reason for the very low and very high is so u overset stuff and cant get it to pick at all unless u have the magic touch lol.
Yes high/lows are pretty nasty. But I didn't want to make it too hard - I populated the lock with funny pins made by 'Lock Noob' - should be entertaining to pick and a nice surprise to see the lovely pins.
