I really enjoyed this video. I think that there are so many that would benefit from seeing what you accomplished today. Before there were big brand grocery stores with handy canned and frozen goods, there were hard working people making available these things after long hard hours of labor by hand. Kudos to you Amy, for all that you do. Thank you, Jeannie
You have such a kind sweet voice. I am 75 yrs old an have shelled lots of peas. Good to see you doing that...most people your age don't do that. Enjoy your week an blessings to you.
I love this , because this is how I grew up in the country Spencer Okc at our house my mom and us children. I love this lady voice I miss the good old days .
Makes me miss my granny. I hated shelling peas when I was kid but Id give anything in the world to be sitting on the front porch again shelling peas, snapping beans and shucking corn ❤
I love watching you do your gardening chores. It is such hard work but yet so enjoyable at the same time. I love getting in the dirt and gardening ( definitely at a smaller scale than yours, Lol). Happy 26th Anniversary❤❤!! Have fun ya'll ❤🙏🙏.Looking forward to being with ya'll.
Amy you just about make me cry for my husband. He picked them and sat on the back porch and shelled them.He didn’t mind, he loved it. he knew they hurt my fingers. I love all peas and beans.I can’t wait to see what you do with them, God bless.
You know I just love to hear John pray, you can just tell how humble he is, and those peas look so amazing. I am going to have to find me some of those purple hull peas, they look so delicious. I don’t know if they would grow here in Tennessee, but I am sure they probably would. Just love watching you Mrs. Amy you are just make my day, hearing your stories of times gone by. And just how much joy you have in your heart.
Love the sun flowers I live in Kansas the sunflower state.. I have been breaking green beans today... You are such a sweet couple and I love that butter dish.. Hope y'all are well and God Bless...
I miss walking through Moma and Daddy's garden just outside of Natchitoches. We would pick Purple Hulls & shell them and it was my time to let my worries go!! How I miss those wonderful days with my Family and my Louisiana Home!! Many times we would have just Purple Hulls and a piece of Cornbread for Supper!! It tasted like a million dollar meal from Heaven!! Thank you for sharing with us again Amy!! I can't wait till the day comes when I can move back home again!!❤❤❤
I wish I had a bushel of purple hull peas 🤗 I just put up 13 quarts of speckled butter beans. I sure miss shelling peas with my mom and grand mother. Such fond memories😄😄
Amy, I used to get fresh flash frozen in 10 lb bags from North Shreveport thru Liz’s produce. I would get crowder peas, purple hulls, speckled butter beans and fresh pinto beans. I would load up ice chests and come back to central Texas.👍😀 Since my mom passed, I haven’t gotten ay more. Precious memories🤗
Girl, it felt like I was sitting right acrossed from you. Wish I would have had some some peas to shell. You said your fingers would turn purple 💜 after shelling...very fitting because like me, purple 💜 is your favorite color. Sure wish I could find a purple 💜 scoop and jar lifter like you have. My boyfriend has found me the purple 💜 progressive funnel and debubbler, but that jar lifter and scoop are hard to find. If it's meant to be, God will lead us to them. For now,, I will continue to use the red ones. Lol Thanks so much for all you do! You are an Angel 😇 among us. 🥰💜💜💜
Oh my goodness your message is so very sweet to me. Thank you for that!! That’s exactly how I feel too is like you are sitting there with me. 😊💜. I hope you find yourself some purple canning things too!
Jesus is coming, Amy. Thank you so much for showing us the beautiful Sunflowers and the 🐝 Bees. It’s so incredible to watch God work. I wish I could help you with your peas and your chores. I sure am ready for some peas and okra and some fresh onion from the garden. I get mine from our local farmers market. Sending more Love and prayers from this Ole Lady in Texas 🙏 🎉Happy Anniversary and y’all have fun and don’t worry!!!!
Look at John giving you a little break peeling his own tomatoes lol! The things we do for our good men!! Amy, you need to know that you are such a joy to watch I look forward to watching you. I have a surprise coming your way and it’s only because you are like family to me! I sure hope I can find some purple hauls up here at a farmers market in Michigan. It’s been years since I’ve had some and I always enjoyed them when I would spend the Summer with family in the south. You keep up the great work and I can’t wait to share this surprise with you!! 💜💜💜
You are so very sweet snd kind. Thank you for telling me all this. Thank you in advance for sending me something. You know you don’t have to do such. Too kind😊💜

Amy, I just love you and John! It's so good to see him again he has been missed. I've got Red Chicken in the crock and watched you put up peas. Man I wish I had planted some. I have tomatoes that are Huge plants along with yellow squash and zucchini. I've already put up some in the freezer. Thank you for sharing your day with us. It's always a blessing to see your smiling face.
I knew you were missing John. He works til dark in the summer and I miss him too😅but I keep myself busy. Not a problem. Red chicken sounds good. You sound like you have put up some good veggies too!
Hi, Amy. I used to peel peas for my grandmother and mom. They used to can every thing in the garden. My mom would can so much vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes, pickles, fruit, so we had good stuff during the winter months. Bring back great memories. Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you both.
Hello bumble bees !! God’s lil creatures. Yummy purple hull pease. Wish I was there to help you . I love you two sweet friends ♥️💋♥️💋 Amy how do you make your cornbread ??
I don't find purple hulled peas in my area...not in the freezer at store either. I'll keep looking though. I've never tried them. Good to see John again...always says a good blessing. Very fortunate for him to have you to greet at the end of a long day. I hope you have a good weekend respite together you deserve it. God bless y'all. Love from Ky.
I've shelled peas but never grew purple bullet guess it's a southern thing boy a group of us could sit and break beans on porch and solve all the world problems sitten there
Haven’t had any purple hull peas since I lived in LA. I love them with cornbread! Your Sunflowers (Sonflowers) are beautiful and that they always face east is beautiful. Aren’t we supposed to keep our eyes on the Eastern Sky? It won’t be long, Ms Amy until we meet our King face to face! Stay as cool as possible! I was introduced to a new drink called Body Armor Lyte. I have problems keeping my potassium up. These are delicious and come in many flavors. Have you heard of these? If not give them a try. They will help you when you lose so much fluid from working in the hot LA sun. (You know 😓) it was so good to see John. I miss seeing him, but I’m thankful for your canning kitchen. So much easier on you. Love you Lady Bug! 💜🙏🏻
I love how you call them Sonflowers. Yes ma’am we are supposed to watch that Eastern sky✝️ I knew you missed seeing John so I hopped back on when he got home. He works til dark and during the summer that is late! Good thing we don’t live in Alaska😅
Amy your making me hungry. I must go to the farm stand above my house and see if there in here in SC. Nothing any better than the taste of purple hull peas and corn bread and a onion and tomatoes and fresh cucumbers. Love your videos
I’ve planted sunflowers twice but have to cut them down every time because the grass hoppers love them. Don’t remember seeing bees ,but lots of grasshoppers. Any suggestions how to keep grasshoppers away
What did you make with the hulls? My purple hull peas are coming on now so I'm thinking I'd better get me some garden boots...I hate hate snakes...happy anniversary
