As a Bournemouth fan, genuinely, he’s not that great. He’s good for his age and for our current level, but he’s not ready for the step up to “a champions league team”.

I think buying players from the Portuguese league is always a bad idea. Stepping from there to any top 5 league has been detrimental to a lot of players. Felix, Enzo, Nunez etc.
LWB, CB, and CM are probably the only position that make sense for a new signing, with priority in that order. Regardless of Shaw's fitness, neither he nor Malacia is a classic LWB. If anything, it needs to be a very attacking one given how the other possible options are LB by trade. CB is important because if we do let Evans and Lindelof go, then the back ups are essentially Maguire and Shaw, and you will be asking for Yoro to start in that scenario, simply not enough numbers without resorting to Casemiro filling in. Midfield is less of a priority as Ugarte, Mainoo and Casemiro makes a good rotation, with Mount also being suitable there. But age and injury concern, and thew way Amorim set up means people like Eriksen are not suited there. Striker is not needed as Hojlund, Zirkzee and Rashford will be more than enough already to fill the gap; if the team needs a striker, it really need an experienced one rather than another up and coming talent. The AM role is a weird one under Amorim, as is tucked in on the right. Bruno is the best there, and Amad/Mount can probably cover as well. RWB is probably the least needed position, Dalot is very good at that role, Maz is an adequate back up or a change in style. Is also not out of the question that any right footer with good work rate can play there, Amorim plays WB that are more like wide midfielders than full backs.
Davies has always wanted a more attacking role than what he has at Bayern - he was a winger most of his career and plays more forward for Canada. I think if he sees progress with United under Amorim it could be a very very appealing move for him to come to United over Madrid - especially when they've shown zero urgency to try and bring him in and gave Mendy a new contract. His role in the squad for United is much more clear than it is for Madrid. Davies - one of the fastest players in the world - with Amass as an understudy would be lethal.
I love Branthwaite but I think questions would arise about how good he is on the ball given Amorim's reliance on the left and right centre back's quality in build up. Need to find someone as close to Bastoni's mould as possible ideally.
Ruben played with Lindelof for 4 years at Benfica. So I can see something happening there with this back 3 he likes and Lindelof is probably the most mobile defender UTD as at the club and the most suited to it. Gyokeres will not come in, after how he made a championship Striker one of the best in two years the board will expect him to change Holijund into that striker. Davis and Gomes both been free transfers I can see UTD getting them that way. I think players like Gore, Collyer, Amass will get a chance in the team this season under him and that could make people rethink about getting players in but thats if they do come good.
Why is nobody talking about Morten Hjulman? He was a target for the season, and he was made captain bt Amorim at Sportin. He is young, and a beast in mid. And its seems like we need a young mid field beast future cap.??
I think united should Inacio he played for Amerim plus he is young. Also think they should buy Fernandez he would be cheap but I would also sign Davies if you can convince him or Alt Nouir and I would love Baleba as a cm option. So thats one cb two lbs and a cm. I mean we should probably sign two or more cbs but idk which ones.
United should try to get some players inn on a free transfer next summer. Alphonso Davis is someone United should try to get. Yes, he will most likely end up at Real. But, strange things has happened. United should also make a move for Calvert-Lewin on a free IMO. The same can be said for Tyrick Mitchell, Angel Gomes, and Kyle Walker-Pieters. United need more english players in the squad.
I think United will got 1 or 2 of these guys (Inacio,Gyokeres,Fresneda,Edwards,Pedro) since Ruben Amorim might wanted his former players joined United. Then for Left back, should have been Ait Nouri. Midfields, maybe Wharton is the top target but Ederson (Atlanta) and Stiller is another option. AM, i think it would be Pedro. ST, this is what i doubting cause they just spend money for Zirkzee unless they put him on sale. But seems unlikely knowing Zirkzee still have long contract and need to find buyer for him. So the striker position looks difficult for now.
Buying players who are exclusively good at playing WB is so risky and a risk y’all cant take. Especially if Amorim turns out to be the next Villas Boas and a new coach comes in who plays a back 4
United should've parted ways with Erik ten Hag in the summer and allow Amorim to take over, now I feel the season might get a bit messy for United even if they signed Amorim.
I am a Sporting fan and i see all the games from Sporting with ruben..... You dont see the big picture....ruben dont always play with the same players in the position they usually play....he plays with RB at CB he plays with CB at RB when he need other kind of defensive attitude. Last cup game he played with a RWB at CB and a RB at LWB. We never know what he will do.
Id say we definitely need Frimpong. Therefore converting Maz to RCB, rotating with Yoro. After binning Shaw, Malacia, get a LWB.. Binning Lindelof and Maguire, resign Evans and get a LCB.. Binning Antony, get a young AM.. Nypan maybe Binning Eriksen, Casemiro.. Getting Stiller and Manstantouno
I get that when people see "left 10' their brain immediately jumps to the easiest definition of that but i promise you, Ruben Amorim left forward is more on an inside forward where he tends to play a second striker (Conrad Harder this season and Paulinho last season). I am begging these youtube accounts to do basic research and actually watch games before spreading misinformation and inciting abuse on players the fanbase doesn't like.

As in Amorim's system the center of the pitch and therefore the central positions are most important, I think we shouldn't pay big money for a LWB. Due to PSR we can't spend big atm. I think Ait-Nouri is a great shout and let's hope Malacia or Shaw can stay fit enough to play part-time roles. I'm happy with Martinez,De Light and Yoro as starting CB's, no need to pay big cash, I'd rather go for a backup or talent. Maybe extend Lindelöf's and Maguires contract for one season, if we don't find one of those options for a reasonable price. All the other positions I would like to see how players adapt to Amorim and how he uses them. Generally I think we have the greatest need for another CM, but let's where Amorim sees Kobbie and maybe he can get something out of Mason Mount...
Bring Alcaro back might be the move. Amorim has seen alot of him in portugal. He would also cheap, good and home grown. Dont think we could pass that up if Amorim likes him. Shaw can become become backup for lb and lcb with Amass coming through as lb option going forward. Malacia can be moved on, injuries have ruined his career at united, might be best to move him on. Would be a pretty nice solution for multiple players/positions.
Left back/ left wing back is number 1 for me. Wing backs are absolutely huge in the new coaches system. Have to attack and come back and defend. Davies is perfect, but unrealistic. I love frimpong and I know jim does too. Interest in the past. Makes sense
100% need striker martinez from Milan, or viktor from sporting would be good start, bring back greenwood along side garnachio is a good front 3, palmer would be amazing, just them would be very attacking and very creative and very pacey
If you look at the 3 starting cbs at Sporting they are all fast, strong and athletic and when you look at United’s they are the opposite, I only see yoro as having a similar mold but he’s 18. United will seriously need to invest in the defense imo

Wouldn’t fit under Amorim really, in that front 3, goncalves drifts almost centrally and plays more like a creative inside forwars (bruno) and hojlund/garnacho could emulate gyokeres/edwards. Where do you envisage kvara fitting? You want to stunt your “starboy”? Also where do you expect you lot to find the 80mp+ it’s gonna take to sign him?
@ more just mentioning it because I feel like no one is looking at him, despite his talent and age. But to be honest I’d happily sacrifice Garnacho’s play time if it meant we would sign Kvara, he’s twice the player, and I like Garnacho.
@@noahleon9650 You really think so? Honestly think what kvara is, is what he’ll always be. Garnacho on the other hand, even if i am admitting this regrettably, has a much higher ceiling IMO. Talent like this has to be raised and nurtured, not thrown out for a shiny new thing, who by the way, has only performed in probably the second worst top 5 european league (la liga is equally as shit tho). Differing opinions i guess, im a bit of a romantic when it comes to nurturing your own talent vs buying.
@ no I do agree in many ways. Like I said I do like Garna so I’m not bashing him, and I’d love him to get more minutes than he has been and become a mainstay who fulfills his potential one day. I just think it’s quite obvious that Kvara has a higher ceiling, people forget he’s also only young himself, and to say he won’t ever improve seems naive. Look at Salah at Roma, who was similar age before he went to Liverpool, and pre Liverpool he was just seen as a good player, not world class.
Tbf United have a big problem next season. Eriksen is out of contract, Maguire is out of contract, Evans will probably want more of a staff role, Lindelof is out of contract, Casemiro will be left with a year on his contract I think (too lazy to look it up now). United have to replace 3 centrebacks, at least 2 to get better depth for Amorim’s back 3 system. Shaw and Malacia are big problems and Amass will only be 17 moving towards 18 next season and won’t be a nailed on starter. United sorely need a LWB. Then they need to replace Eriksen because Ugarte, Casemiro, Mainoo and Collyer will not be enough. They might also need a AM since mount is always injured and should the worst happen and Bruno gets injured, no one can replace him unless they put Zirkzee there which puts stress on Rasmus as the only striker again although Wheatley is making progress to be a good backup, we just need to see more of him. Man United have many youth talents coming through so it wouldn’t surprise me if they need to pull up at least one of the two left footed centre backs that they have in the youth system namely Godwill Kukonki and Dan Armer. Kukonki who is already like a big prospect that for some reason isn’t talked about enough since he is already playing U21 at 15/16 years of age. So hopefully there is enough money to maybe get both Inacio and Guehi, then Guehi can be a good central CB for the back 3 since he has that ambidextrous quality. Inacio because Martinez has injury problems and we need someone who can fill that role or step up when needed. Yoro is also there so having that young contingent will be crucial for the future of Man United’s defence.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Amorim would try Pedro Gonçalves for AM or Hjulmand for CM before any of these shouts. (Assuming he will have a say in transfer market and will be looking for these roles). My experience with him is that he will want at least one more CB (Inácio that can do any of the 3 roles) and a LWB firs and foremost.

Inacio to united would not be comparable to any of the signings of former ten hag players. Independent of his previous relationship with amorim, he's superior to the other options. I don't understand this love affair with Branthwaite, seems super overrated.

You cannot keep a 32 year old Maguire on 200k a week when he doesn´t even really fits the way he played here in Portugal. Too slow for what Ruben is used to. Also, paying 70 or 80M for english CB when you can get someone as good for half the price makes no sense.

For me at this point, Luke Shaw just cant be considered a starting player, on his day he is amazing, but we need a first team left back who holds that position. Shaw has been at Utd for 10 years and played only 50% available games. Its time to move on.
think Amorim will try for Hjulmand. he fell in love with him since he came to sporting, praised him above palhinha and ugarte. and I must say, he remindes me a lot of Busquests. Super intelligent player, 1-2 touch tiki-taka, is a leader on the pitch and also has good long shots. Only "but" is that he has an Arsenal tattoo on his shoulder lol. But as a Sporting fan, I hope you leave us alone after stealing Ruben ;) Also you might go in for Geovany Quenda, wonderkid that Amorim also praised A LOT publicly, which he normally doesn't do.
