I am with you, I was riding “rice burner” sport bikes since 1980. I test rode a Harley back then. It felt on the road like a tractor, low power, poor braking, leaked oil, vibrated the front tire to a blur, “tradition” of quality & issues with repair issues. Fast forward to 2008, I tested an ‘04 Sportster Roadster... what an eye opener, I borrowed his half-helmet and took it out Hwy 33. I could not believe all the foibles: plenty of torque without stirring the gearbox, dual disc brakes, belt drive, oily mess with a new reputation for excellent quality. I agree with you totally and yes I am now a Harley enthusiast and bough a FatBoy in 2004 😎

Subscribed from Melbourne Australia, now to go back to the start and watch all your other vlogs. I know the feeling when riding, we have been in Stage 4 lockdown here for nearly 4 months. Not allowed to travel further than 3 miles from home, no visiting or visitors allowed, unless you have a work permit you are to stay at home and a night time curfew. Motorcycling is my escape and assist with mental health. Nothing but the road and me... you’ll do 100k by Xmas easy with great vlogs like this.. keep up the great work 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Go for the Road Glide, as much riding as you do you certainly deserve it !! When I turned 65 I bought a new Heritage Softail, my first HD with no regrets. As much as I hate to say this, life is too short, we owe it to ourselves to enjoy it. Ride safe and thanks for sharing.

People have tested both the 107 and the 114 and said there was hardly any difference. You need a Road Glide.

Maybe it’s because I’m not going for top end speed, but the 107 felt more responsive and got me up to speed from stop quicker. Thought it had more than I’d ever need...then I hit my 1k point and did the 1k service, and it feels like it got even a bit more (like it was intentionally restricted until break in done). For me what made the final decision though was the chrome vs black. Cheaper to build the engine than chrome out everything that was black powder coated lol.

I always say, Once you go 'Glide, you never go back. LOL. Bikes in general throttle SO EASILY!!!! We just put in the Progressive devices in our cars (to earn discounts). THANK GOD they don't make these devices for motorcycles. LOL. There's only one other animal on the planet that relates to motorcycle riders. That animal is a dog with its head out the car window. Went there a few weeks back for Bike night, Way too small of an area ,But was still nice to get out. The Sunbury branch is wide open and we enjoy going there . Besides being in Westerville and much closer, it has more to offer. JMO Makes it nice for my 14 Ultra servicing. Ride safe folks.

Life is short! Get yourself a Road Glide! I rolled my 2017 Road Glide Special off of the Dealership in August of 2017 and have over 37K on her! They are great touring bikes! You should watch this video a few times and really listen to your enthusiasm and pure joy of riding a Road Glide! Buy it and dont look back!

I used to ride an Ultra Limited. I went out to buy a new 2020 Ultra Limited to replace my 2014. But I decided I owed it to myself to TRY a Road Glide. When I 1st got on the Road Glide, my 1st impression was "No Way ". But the more I rode it the more I realized I really enjoyed the fairing. Then when I took it on the InterState...it was a no brainer! So I purchased the 2020 RG Limited and I absolutely love, love the bike. I have had it 2 months and got 5K miles on her. Best of luck with your decision and thanks for a great channel!

When I first got the mini apes on my Street Glide the controls were angled down too far for me in the same way. Just loosen the bolts near the controls and change the angle to your liking

I remember when i took a test ride on a road glide special and a street glide special. That road glide made me feel some kinda way that i just cant explain. I can not WAIT till i can afford one. It was an amazing experience and i LOVE doing distance and i think i could do real long trips with ease on one. Cant wait for that day for sure

I love the look of the road glide over the street glide! Every time you turn with the street glide you also have to turn the front fairing where the road glide fairing is fixed. Plus it looks better personally.

The 107 is a Milwaukee 8. Gets my Street Glide around just fine. As far as RG vs SG, less weight on RG front end due to frame mounted fairing. SG fork mounted fairing feels heavier turning, but everything closer to the rider. Both look great!! Stay safe Jess!!

I’ve got a 2017 RoadGlide Ultra and it’s amazing. I enjoy the room in the cockpit versus my previous bike (2015 Limited). Nothing looks or handles as good as a RoadGlide. Ride safe

I absolutely love my Road Glide. The 107 is plenty of power and if down the road want more I can do the big bore kit that they have to make it a 128 with very close numbers to the 131 kit they have. I bought mine used as it is a 2018 model but best damn bike I have ever ridden. Now when I ride smaller bikes they feel so light and definitely not the same rode quality as the RG. Have fun and enjoy you will quickly grow attachment to the bike. Adjustments are easily made for the controls as needed. I still run stock bars but kind of dig the ones on your loaner

You should you should check out the road king special, I have a 2020 Road King special, it's almost the exact same bike, but without all the stuff you don't need. You don't need a radio the wind is your music

I love my RG , I can be on Rt.2 heading towards Cedar Point and set the cruise and sit back and let the bike steer itself for miles and just listen to music or nature these bikes ride smooth. It's awesome

I had a Heritage softtail forc14 years, traded it for a 2018 Road Glide! Absolutely love it. Road Glide, Road King, Street Glide,and Ultra are all the same frame, touring, different layouts. The shark nose seriously splits the wind way better then the bat wing, and it is mounted to the frame. The batwing turns and gets a bit more buffetting from the wind. I rode them all when I traded. The ROAD GLIDE WON OUT! NO REGRETS!!! Ride what YOU ENJOY!!! Stay safe

Get the Roadglide limited. You might not think it about it. But will go that direction eventually. The tourpak and heated grips make it well worth it. And the comfort. Roadglide blocks more wind.

Hi Jess, if you're thinking about a Bagger I agree try a Street Glide, but also check out the 2018 or newer Honda Goldwing.

Just bought my first Harley, a 2009 Street Glide and I am loving it! My previous bike was a 2016 Honda Shadow 750, so quite a big difference! I test rode a 2017 Road Glide, which was very nice, but had to go with what I could afford.

@@kevinfitts9252 The only thing I am having issues with is slow speed turns and I have dropped the bike twice. Almost impossible for me to pick up by myself. I have been watching Ride Like a Pro videos on RU-vid to learn more about maneuvering bigger bikes.

Try a Heritage. Just got a 2020 Black one with the 114! Thanks John Maxwell! Smaller than a glide but has the comfort, bags and cruise!

I recognize the symptoms that you are experiencing because I had the same symptoms for about two years and the only cure is to BUY THAT ROAD GLIDE!!! That's what cured me, I totally understand the attachment to your current bike but there's nothing like sittin your butt on a new bike and riding until you jut give out then repeat as often as possible. 😊

Yeah ,I have a 14 Ultra ,and I like the Batwing also. Having it turn with the direction I'm going works for me.

I like the look of the batwings, but I've had both and I'll stick with the shark nose. In fact, I'll likely never own any other touring bike. As a rider north of 6', I find the Road Glide to fit me better. But what really bugged me about my batwing was the fairing only having storage space for one cell phone. The shark nose has 2 sizable storage pockets. I also like that there are 2 actual vents that can be opened, and closed. And I feel frame mounted fairings handle cross winds better.

@@dh2392 I have a 2017 Ultra Classic and I love it. It also has 2 actual vents that can be opened and closed on the lowers, plus the adjustable deflectors on the fairing. Plenty of wind in the heat and does a good job of blocking the wind in the cold.

@@nomaddawhat7643 I'm talking about vents in the actual fairing. I have vents in the lowers too. I had a 2014 Ultra Limited for 4 years, so I'm very familiar with them. The other thing I forgot to mention is the wind management difference between the bikes. At 6'2" I put a 12" screen on my Ultra Limited because I found the buffeting, my head getting knocked around, unbearable with anything shorter. Why I understand the old shark noses were bad at that, my 2018 has no such problem. I put on a 2" taller screen only to cut the wind noise as I ride with earphones. The stock screen delivered smooth air, it was just somewhat loud.
