Cool. I was trying to find the signal generator settings on pico 7 on a 2012 macbook air. I'm gonna pickup the 2204a and some leads for automotive. Back in the mid 1990's we used a program called SuperScope2 on os9 (Neuroscience lab).

version 7 looks more like DSView but in white (software for DSCope usb oscilloscopes)

I'm wondering if they have already fixed the issues that some people complained about in v6: "Picoscope v6 has some annoying software features. When zooming, the grids are random. There's no way of setting grids or zooming at fixed numbers. The other thing is that V/div is the entire screen, not divisions on the grids. So 2V/div is +2V at top of the screen and -2V at the bottom. It's a little thing, but annoying."

That's actually not a bad rewrite - they've modernized the UI without losing features.

Can you advise if you change the look of the screen ie a black background and coloured traces. I find the bright white thing an issue with my aging eyes! When i have a minute i'll have a play but Pico really does need to run without too many white bright blocks for me if you get what i mean....

Thanks for the great review. I'm really sold on Pico knowing I can get all the software features on a lower priced scope. Can you please review the LOTO scope and compare it to the Pico since they are both USB? Was going to ask do you have any books that you recommend for digital circuit design? I want to go beyond just troubleshooting to fully understand design principles of digital circuits.

Thanks Tron! I am becoming a big fan of this PicoScope;) I do have 2 LOTO scopes that I've had for awhile. I kind of forgot about them after some initial difficulty (I think I was getting a new computer). But, I'll pull them out and give one of them away - or maybe both:) I have to figure out other ways to select winners. I still have a few meters with no home as I didn't really have more than one or two takers.

@@KissAnalog Well if it were me I'd probably try to see if any of my patrons were in financial need and could really use the equipment. That is the main reason I never entered the contest. I'd feel bad taking it from somebody who couldn't afford it.

@@KissAnalog I have an older version of the 6022BE which comes with software similar to that of the handheld 2D72. It's ok for my needs as I mostly play around with audio but I'm thinking of selling it and getting a Pico or the Owon HDS272S which also comes with software but it looks very basic; no FFT or Math as far as I can tell.

There is the entry level Pico that is about the same cost of the Owon, and it will have the spectrum analyzer (better than the FFT) as it will run their software. amzn.to/3iwtbdx

@@KissAnalog Yes, I like the pico 2204A. I can get it for about £95 new. The pico software looks great. I'm right in thinking that picoscope version 6 (and hopefully 7) will run with the 2204A? I'm still deciding if I want to be tied to a computer or go the handheld route. I like the convenience of the handheld scopes but the pico 2204A seems more powerful and feature-rich. hmmm, decisions decisions. Thanks for your input again. P.S. When I buy some hypex n-core amps I'll let you know how I get on. I'm confident they will be great. P.P.S. Are you familiar with the YT channel and forum called 'audio science review'? They do some excellent audio science related testing.
