I found the gap more pronounced on the Motone version (and Monza cap) - I could see the red plastic underneath, so had to use the gasket. I also may have over tightened initially wanting to reduce the gap. Let's just say my mod is permanently on the bike now haha..... thanks again for another good video!
It looks great but I regret there is not one with a lock / key. Some people are natural born assholes in this World and they have a tall puppy syndrome when they see someone else with a nice bike or car. You know the kind, who scratches your paint with their key for no reason whatsoever but jealousy. They seem to systematically assume you have stolen the money you worked for and if they cannot have it you should not have it either. One of my mates had sugar dropped in his R80 tank here in New Zealand; by the time he realized where that funny burned caramel smell came from, the damage was done. The bike seized and it was near totaled. Cost of repairs to have the fuel system and pistons replaced and chambers repaired was in the thousands. It is the World we live in, jealous people and self entitled brats who are on a crusade to "save the planet" in spite of being city dwelling assholes who knows nothing about seasonal farming, will not hesitate to damage anything they deem remotely polluting or not accessible to them. Let me tell you this is a shit era for bikers and mechanic lovers in general, especially in our cities. The other thing is condensation, is there a sealed vent to the cap? A cap that does not breathe so to speak creates water inside the tank and ultimately corrosion. I know this is why you should always fill your tank before storage but let's be honest, who is doing it systematically? It looks like a great product, would definitely consider it if key and air breather would be included in the cap. (lets some air in, keeps water out)
