As a woman I watched the Women’s FA cup final and as I was listening I turned to my girlfriend and said , These muppets literally sound like they have no idea what they are talking about. The commentating was poor, I couldn’t decipher who had the ball or what plays where being made because they spent more time talking the biggest load of crap to each other. I just can’t get into the game in the same way when women are commenting because it feels like they just ramble on

Joey is 100% right. If we are being brutally honest, decent level men’s Sunday league football is a higher standard than top-level women’s football and if we had Sunday league players analysing EPL games then viewers would quite rightly find it ridiculous!

I'm against female commentary in football matches. Not because of gender, but because they're not witty or articulate like the season male commentary and they have high pitched voices which becomes grating. Funny thing is, I've watched tennis religiously from 2006 - 2021 roughly and half the commentary is done by women (even in the mens game), but they're all 45yrs+ old and have gravitas in their voice. Listen to Annabel Croft (Tennis) speak vice women in football. Different universe.

Being a man does not make you more qualified than a woman to be a football journalist. We are not talking about competing. There is no physical advantage to be had. It's all about the work in studying the sport. What Joey is saying, although he says otherwise, is sexist. There is no other explanation.
