Good comment. The presence of women completely changes the dynamic. Men's spaces are being invaded. That really is the bottom line. I don't care if women don't feel included in the men's game. It's the men's game! The same as on the tv - there's nowhere to watch football in a male-only space. It's invasive.

Exactly the point I made in my post, female presenters and commentators have just as much a place in any sport including mens football if they can ask the right questions and describe factually what is happening in an entertaining way. The role of the pundit is usually the professional insight from a player or manager, at this point woman can not talk with authority on mens football, neither can 99% of men who have never kicked a ball at the top level. That's all Joey had to articulate but sadly allowed himself to get blindsided.
Yeah but that's more of an awareness thing. I think Joey's too frustrated to know the difference. Joey's main point is still somewhat valid. What's more frustrating is that MOST pundits will comeout against Joey despite probably agreeing with him in secret

Absolutely, most of the Play by play and presenters are more like journalists. Word smiths. But co-com, who is bringing the analysis has to be well versed in the sport. The mens game is being saturated more and more each year by female commentators, I am sure there are many men, just as, if not more qualified to fill these rolls but are being overlooked to fill quotas and I'm sure they would love a chance to do these jobs. On another point, the Womens game in England is has the most biased TV coverage I have seen anywhere. They cherry pick the the games from the top 4 sides every week, Arsenal, Chelsea, City and United, this deliberately falsifies the standards of the WSL. Yes, the women on the panel sabotaged each other to a degree at the end there by shouting over one another. Of _course_ the majority in the comments section appear to be in support of him, which proves nothing other than most sane people have got better things to do with their time. The guy is _'troubled',_ shall we say. [¹] NB: I personally think trans-women *who have been through male puberty* should *_not_* be competing in elite women's power sports. Probably the only thing we can agree on. The good news is that the main sports bodies are some distance from acquiescing to anything of the sort.
The women players have little idea of what it is to be a premiership footballer - what it takes. They're inherently less qualified as pundits and they are being hired BECAUSE they're women and the channels are hooked into DEI targets. Re: life game commentating - different to punditry and a different skill that doesn't necessarily require first-hand knowledge of the game at a high level. But it does require the right voice and I'm yet to hear a women's commentator with the right voice. Transwomen (males) have no place in women's sport, full stop.
His argument is all over the place. It's about the standard the commentator/pundit played to when it suits him and not about that when it doesn't suit him.
