My dad is turning 80 soon, he told me when he was young if he or other older teens/young men got out of line the older men would beat them. Police will turn up 1 hour too late to a home invasion, or a knife attack, and ask you to fill out a form and get a reference number, and it will be shelved until the end of time. If you are the victim, and you take responsibility for your own safety in any way, the police will do everything in their power to pursue charges against you. They are in the business of punishing law abiding citizens and protecting criminals and criminal enterprise.
