He choked up a bit when it came to Hanna's name being read. From covering this case over the years, Jake seems to laugh nervously when in court.

@@rosered103 well, no one has been sentenced yet. Not even Jake. There is an agreement between the parties. He will never get out of prison. His attorney said Jake knows he will die in prison. The others have not gone to trial yet.

Omg that's exactly what I saw....I was blowed away by the narrator calling it a tear up when he admitted to killing Hannah...that was a smile if I've ever seen one

@Dee K At the time of the murders, the father had the little girl. She was with that family, so unsure of all the circumstances. I know that the Wagner family were fraudulently trying to get full custody of the child by forging the Mother's signature on documents. So that goes the opposite way - no sharing custody. I agree that both Mother and Father should have access to see their child/ren, as long as they are responsible parents (some should never have access to their children when totally unsuitable) - but that is another channel - AFC PODCAST, when parents and step -parents kill their children!!!

@Dee K Is that in the USA? I think in the UK, they give joint custody, unless there are issues, then the court will decide. Mothers do need to accept that the Father being in the life of the child/ren, is part of their growing up to be balanced adults. (unless of course again - there are genuine issues). Do mothers not get taken to court when they refuse to let the Dad see the children??

@@kenn1936 the father didn't have full custody of the girl at the time of the murder....it was just his visitation time. Hannah had just given birth to another child with another man ...which was in bed with her at the time of the murder(Thank God he didn't kill that baby)...and he was keeping their child while she had just come home from the hospital recovering. He had actually went to the hospital to see her trying to get her to sign full custody papers of their child together over to him. I guess in his mind since she now had another baby with someone else, she should be willing to give him full custody of his child. Lots of immature crap going on. Plus the older family members were squabbling with each other...Lots of hard feelings. The Wagoners always had money and looked down on the Rhodens and didn't approve of them raising their granddaughter. But yet they thought it was ok to murder everyone to get full custody of her....smh.

@@kenn1936 to me, this was the part that was least thought out. If they planned to kill Hannah, if not caught, Jake would have been given custody of Sophia anyway. Those forged custody documents are what led the police to them to begin with.

The way he smirked, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a ploy. He pleads guilty only to lie on the stand, then the cases collapse. I hope not! I hope they got the weapons etc. Because he was not at all remorseful.

The death penalty wrongfully punishes the innocent and rewards the guilty with an early release.

Guarantee they all still claim they're innocent and this boy takes the brunt of the case as he's never said how the killings happened or who did the actual killing.

@@pamelamorris3148 Yes he did tell who killed who : Angela killed 1- Kenneth Rhoden in his camper with his dog-one shot through the left eye. "Billy" the father & George 1V, the older brother killed 2 - Hannah's dad and cousin -shot through the trailer front door, then entered and shot some more. Jake killed 5 at 2 homes - 1st home : Hannah, her mom, and younger brother who was awake and tried to hide between his bed and the wall. 2nd home : Hannah's older brother, and his fiance.

They were all shot in the head - some several times - as they slept. All except Chris Rhoden who was shot many times. He was awake.

Billy (the dad) and George IV did not take plea deals yet. If they are convicted, they get the death penalty more than likely.

It takes time to go through the system...And they didn't want them to get off on some technicality....Plus there was this Pandemic! And then the local sheriffof where they were arrested got caught up in his own wrongdoing...where he ended up going to prison for 3 years. They had obstacles coming at them from all directions. With Jake's confession and testifying, I anticipate that some of the others will be changing their pleas. The victims family members left are very old and in poor health. I'm sure this is a blessing for them. Otherwise they might not live to go through all the trials.

Jake did get custody. He had the daughter for two years after the murders, and up until the arrests.
