Pikmin 3 glitch: Fragment duplication and its strange effects

This video showcases some of the strange things that can happen when you duplicate bridge fragments using the infinite dirt mound glitch in Pikmin 3. Since there was more to show here than in my previous glitch showcases, I decided to do some video editing and add some text to explain what's going on. I hope you enjoy the video!

Super weird. The only glitch I knew of in this game is the invisible pikmin glitch so it's cool to see some others

This glitch looks super neat! Are there any dirt mounds that contain things other than bombs and bridge pieces? Maybe in mission mode?

There are dirt mounds that contain pellets, but these aren't as interesting as they stop producing pellets after a fairly small number have come out, after which point you can continue doing the infinite dirt mound trick but they won't produce anything (the sound effect will play but nothing will come out). There are a few dirt mounds that contain other things but I haven't tested those.

@@sopranogame I believe there's a data file dirt mound in formidable oak, but otherwise I'm not aware of anything else unique.

There's one bridge in the game with special qualities that might make this glitch work differently. Namely the one that separates alph and Britney at the start of distant tundra. Obviously there aren't bridge pieces in dirt mounds for that bridge but it's a fun idea for an experiment if someone's willing to hack in the right conditions.
