Minimum Pikmin runs already use this trick. But instead of using it to skip the yellow onion altogether, they just use the 5 yellow pikmin given to them instead of growing 15 more. So I thought to myself "this is genius! by skipping the onion, the 42/46 minimum has just gone down to 37/41!" But then I realized the 5 yellow pikmin that are given to you still exist; you just ignored them. And by not activating the yellow onion, you're killing the 20 pikmin you just turned yellow for the Vehemoth Phosbat fight (while it isn't against the rules to kill pikmin in a minimum pikmin run, cutting your 37 minimum down to 17 would not be ideal, and potentially impossible.)

Btw to people maybe wondering the glitch in the tundra works with the yellow onion revived too, and is a fast way to complete the level. You can also walk to the iron ball past the electric gate on Brittany’s side to access the cave, I believe this is faster than what is shown in the video and if the onion has been activated you can use the yellows to push the ball. I think you might be able to push the ball with rocks or reds if alph throws them over to Brittany but I haven’t tried it yet. I assume it will work though.

They patched the pikmin dupe i think. But not the onion skip, you can still do that

You can kill the phosbat without activating the big bulb. Just activate the smaller ones when it's near, and charge it for as much damage as possible. It is the easiest pikmin game, after all.

It's kinda wild they never fixed this glitch, i remember wanting to do this glitch in the original Pikmin 3 but i sadly didn't had a Wii U, and i thought that all mayor glitch were patched, but surprisingly not this one, it's neat, i love when the game just doesn't know what to do and just let's you get advantage of broken mechanics

This is like in pikmin 2 where you could only get purples and whites with candypop buds and makes them rarer but instead it’s yellows. Funny to see how you can ignore such a basic pikmin type.

Seen this glitch before on wii u but still cool they did not patch it

To save time during the battle u can simply use half of the bridge pieces and then throw the captain on the electric red thing side

there's another duping glitch i found at the end of the day. for it you need at least 2 pikmin types, at least 100 total pikmin, and for it to be at the end of the day. have 100 pikmin in the field, once 0 appears on screan put away all pikmin not getting duped and take out 100 of the pikmin getting duped. at the pikmin graph you will see that the pikmin type has been doubled. it's not necessarily for 100 pikmin of the type to dupe. but it provides the most pikmin.

I'd just like to clarify that for WHATEVER REASON, the wall-scaling glitch done with Brittany just _doesn't_ _work_ on Wii U. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't.

Gonna have to try this out. For the last part where you have yellows on the field without the yellow onion, do they still path back to the onion when carrying? If so what happens if you return to Distant Tundra, free the real yellow onion, and then have yellows carry?

I found a new way of cloning pikmin of all types, however I can't find a reliable way of duplicating above 100 for normal or hard modes or 60 for ultra-spicy mode. If anyone is able to show a more reliable method for duplicating above 100 or 60, let me know.
