Greg, Excellent video and a very good commentary with it. I saw lots of piles close to the site boundary with the pile beam sitting top of it. Is this to create the boundary or the strength to the building structure? The CBR test was shown brilliantly which is a top requirement for the Structural Engineer. Does the CBR test result decides how much capping layer in millimetre is required? Super video. Congratulations.
Hi, thanks for this lovely video. I was just wondering, how do you progress with the piling work with the geogrid underneath? Do you cut out the geogrid in the areas where you pile? or would the rig tear right through it? Thanks!
Hi Erkan! I am not sure about the thickness of that one and I think there was 1 layer of geogrid. It all depends on soil condition survey and the later design.
Got the questions, where usually testing pile has to be installed, and for what purpose. Second question , does pressure testing need to be applied always? Or you can just say “solid as fuck” ground
They are installed to check/confirm the bearing capacity of the pile in the ground (confirming the ground investigation survey). To check the pile pressure has to be always applied, you can see in my next video, I will also cover this bit more in Construction Drawings video nr.3, showing the results.
