Southwest airlines pilot, Mark, won an Aircraft provisioning box truck in an auction and decided to turn it into his Tiny Home on wheels! And because this box truck has a scissor lift, he's able to get the best views at any campsite. He calls his house the "SnakPak!"

This has got to be my favourite build I’ve ever seen! It’s so nifty and the scissor lift actually adds value to the experience by giving you that added view and a feeling of safety like being high up in a tree. The inside is full of stuff that’s FUNCTIONAL he built it himself after thorough planning but he’s got great pre-made goods like the coffee machine, the fridges and the air conditioning unit. The porch is such a vibe I can’t even begin to describe. The angled roof for not just looks but to catch rainwater, there’s a flagpole which is nice if you’ve ever had the pleasure of raising a flag you’d know, finding a use for his neighbours old skis, the decals and motifs that actually have meaning as to his career experiences. *sigh* It’s just beautiful 😍

There are quite a few tiny homes that have been incredible. But this one tops them all. Everything is well planned out & done to perfection. There can't be a man on earth that wouldn't give his left arm to own this. And no doubt there are many women who wouldn't love to tag along with this handsome, intelligent, creative, fun guy. But what sold me on him is that he served our country. And even better than that, he did it in the USAF. I was raised an Air Force BRAT. Go Air Force! 🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲
@hannakinn
@hannakinn Год назад
AirForce brat here too. Mark reminded me of a supercharged version of my dad. My mom and dad both served in the AF, that's where they met and I was born in a base hospital. I try to be prepared myself. I have some bugout gear and survival skills. I admire the extent to which Mark is prepared to survive and also how he's done it in such an obviously enjoyable manner for himself.

@@hannakinn thank you so much for your parents serving our country. And from one BRAT to another, yay us! ❤️. We had such great lives didn't we. I have always felt blessed. I pray for you and your family to be kept safe, and have your needs met. 🙏❤️🇺🇲
@hannakinn

@@TRoth858 thank you for such a nice response. After my father got out of the USAF he became a policeman, then a Border Patrolman, then a criminal investigator with a branch of the US government. Mom worked for the government as well. We moved an awful lot. Moving that much had it's benefits and drawbacks. Always the new kid at school and it was difficult to maintain friendships. Long distance phone calls used to cost a lot and letter writing usually stopped after a year or so. It's probably a lot easier for military brats these days with unlimited calling, texting and social media. I do think growing up with dad in the military taught me to be tough, resilient and it exposed me to a lot that I'd never have seen or known about if I'd lived in the same area all of my life. We sometimes lived in areas where little white girl me was the minority, I think that was a valuable life lesson and made me a better person, everyone should be the minority for at least a few months of their lives. I'm not social but am comfortable with people of all types. I ignore social status and can get along with most people. I think I'm more accepting of others than most people my age. I also appreciate what little I do have, having visited Mexico weekly with my mom at one point and having lived places where people dug through our trash cans for food to feed their children, I know my life could be much worse. We used to buy food and leave it for the trash pickers and we'd pack up our leftover hot meals and leave them out when we knew they'd stop by. At one house we had to shut off our outside water because our house had become the go to spot for poor people to refill their jugs and our waterbill was out of control. It's been an interesting life. I sometimes feel that we military brats deserve some of the perks offered to those that served because we all served in a way too. We were a military family, dads service, his devotion to country impacted us all. Would be cool if we could shop at a PX once a month or qualify for the Veterans Day discounts. I know that's not going to happen. I never know what to say when people ask me where I'm from, I was born on a base and spent all of my childhood moving about. I have no home base, it's weird to belong to nowhere, have no roots, no childhood home, no childhood friends. I'm sure I'm not alone. Military Brats represent! Lol
@TRoth858
@TRoth858 Год назад
@@hannakinn I could so relate to what you said and how you feel. Though it was hard always moving ever 3-4 yrs, I wouldn't change a thing. Though my dad retired back in 72, and having lived in the same city now since 73, I still often feel like the outsider or new kid on the block. I am still in touch with the best friend I had from 1st to 4th grade. She's never left the area she grew up in. I think she's only been out of that state 3-4 times. I can't even comprehend that. For me the hardest move for me was leaving England. My mum was born and raised there, and all of her family was still in the same area. Being able to spend 4 yrs there, getting to see my nan & grandad, cousins, aunts & uncles was glorious. I've been back 5 times, but that's no where enough for me. Oh, but most of my relatives used to come and visit quite often. I think that's awesome that you would leave food out for those less fortunate. Living where I live that is hard to do. The crime has gotten so bad. And with homeless, it's not safe due to the drugs, needles, broken bottles, and bodily wastes being everywhere. When we moved here, there were some homeless, but now it's out of control. One of the things I loved most being raised a BRAT was not seeing color. We all just loved and supported each other as fellow brats and as proud Americans. I never experienced racism till after my dad retired. I've been descriminated against a few times for being white, which bothered me the most because I've never been racist, towards anyone. I pray for unity, but doubt it will happen anytime soon. I was blessed to be married to military, so I still have base privileges. I'm in my 60s and can't imagine not having it. I wish I had the privilege of going space A, but don't. I think with your dad's service to our country, his city & state, he and you mom should get every benefit out there. So many sacrifices were made by all of you. If we ever meet, I'll take you on base. 🤗

He’s got it set up so it’s private & personal to he’s livelihood where he only has to press a button & the back porch lifts to about 17 or 18 feet high , it had to do this so he could keep prying eyes 👀 away. my Dad started me working when I was 12 on a farm! tons of different jobs which I found out extremely helpful not only for this build, but my life in general. building houses, a cook, dishwasher, welder, learned to plasma cut, electrician, mechanical work on the farms, apple orchards, cheese factory ! all during my youth and college. I'm normally surrounded by friendly neighbors on BLM land and have a security system and live cameras with motion detectors which I monitor. the box itself is would be extremely difficult to get into compared to regular home - lots of metal welded bars/slides and big locks help out with this. about 2.3 years getting more fun by the year! I've been all over the western US! Moab, Havasu, Vegas, salt lake area, Tetons, Glacier NP, Washington state, Bend OR, Tahoe and more to come! close calls ? youlll need to call me for that, but more than I can remember.

Wow. I've seen a lot of builds - but this is in a whole different category. Mark manages to pack so much in so little space - the elevated front porch is particularly fascinating. His ability to create intense prospect and refuge via his scissor lift is quite compelling. Thanks for documenting his work. Nice job.

That has to be boring, to go from flying special operations in a badass American fighter jet, over to a coach bus w/ wings, LoL. That, and those transitioning over to civilian life after seeing combat. I feel for them, it has to be tough. I thank everyone whose serve/served, your service doesn’t go unnoticed, it’s greatly appreciated.

Besides the obvious on the build... Why am I just as captivated by him? Talk about a aura that pierces even a digital divide of reality! You seem like someone worth spending a few days with for many reasons, most of which are curiosity driven from so many facets! A good soul exudes no doubt! Enjoy your journey; the venture of purpose without a plan is how I did Costa Rica in 15 days...you make me rethink the thoughts of what is currently known as my "lifestyle", and the how much one can miss staying "still" in life or living stationary ... You bring a whole new meaning to the word "air" BnB my friend! In fact, this is the first one I'd ever say yes to! If you ever come to California... I'd love to get caffeinated on a scissor lift of loveliness like this lol. Peace and safety in your travels, in fact, do you have a channel of your own and or, are you documenting your excursion?! I would love to follow!

@@markpankey5689 words were warranted; ur so welcome...but the thank you is feeling lil more leveraged this direction - sometimes the craziest and most unexpected forces in life are sprung off of such unconnected entities. Actually, that probably happens more than we care to pay attention to, but every once in a while, I guess I should speak for myself, I actually tune in to these random or maybe otherwise hidden/ unforeseen things, circumstances, whatever... and allow the power of such randomness to spark the most unintentionally pivotal bits of magic that become a huge catalyst to a new direction... I'm pretty sure your video did that for me... The timing was somewhat serendipitous. Simple as that. Thank you... Shannin

I imagine that bubble level is very useful, wouldn't want it to go up while out of level! Great build. The man loves his coffee! Speaking of airplanes, I had my RANS S-7 LSA set up to sleep in, a good trick for a very small plane. It had a bi folding baggage floor, flat and level, with the plane in the three point position, a taildragger OF COURSE. When I bought a different throttle for the plane, I mounted the old one on a shelf right by the shop's toilet, PUSH FORWARD TO GO! All pilots, including me with my 2 seater, always have peanuts handy for their passengers, too funny.

Something I highly recommend that is very simple but very effective is hang a rope or webbed belt (like a seat belt) loosely from the ceiling to the side of your bed at about your waist position. This will keep you from completely rolling out of the bed. It saved me on the Navy ship I was having a dream and pushed off against the wall as hard I could. The strap kept me from falling six feet in my sleep (I was in the top bunk of a 3 bunk stack).

Worked at Toronto Pearson International Airport in the early 90's , the company called CARA had a huge fleet of these trucks , used to see them driving on the tarmac road system and loading aircraft ...... , this one is a small truck , they had much longer ones . I always had the same in my head to build a stealth camper out one of these too ...... great for having an unobstructed few at a beach on the ocean , great for watching auto racing too , as a lot of people build patio's on top of box trucks that I have seen at to the big super speedways ...... great over all build ......
