Hi I have a question about the hold entry. I noted you had around 20 kt tailwind, should the 1 minute teardrop entry have been wind corrected? So fly the 187° for 40 seconds?

Great job and thank you so much for this. I have just one question. Did you record the voice live as you were doing the sim session or did you do voice over on a cilp after you've flown it? I'm amazed at your multitasking skills either way. Great content Capt!

hi Gabriele....a couple of question......is there any standard turn indicator you can use during procedures ,or banking 25 deg is enuogh to perform a good turn a this speed? (would you apoligize....i'm just discovering all the b737 systems and I still haven't spotted such an indicator before) ....2nd question ....which is a smart way to correct for the wind when flying procedures in raw data and workload is pretty high?.....thanks a lot in advance👋👋🙏

Hey Michele, i made a video about standard turn rate, its on my channel, have a look. Normally we use 25deg when flying a jet Airliner. On the 73 you have the track indicator that shows you the track.

Gabriele, at 29:18 you mention the aircraft is in the second quadrant, but the way you orient the quadrants in the figure is on the cardinal directions N, E, S, W. My understanding was that the quadrants are oriented based on the QDR that you're using. So in this case the first quadrant would be for QDRs between 337 and 067, second quadrant between 067 and 157 and so on. With this definition the aircraft would be in the third quadrant, not the second. Is my interpretation incorrect? Should I ask the examiner how he expects to orient the quadrants? Because this is a very stupid source of misunderstanding, if in doubt I can just say I am on radial 165, flying from the station at D18.5, about to turn left to intercept radial 157 inbound ODAMO; that way it's very clear I know where I am.

Next time correct for the wind. 19kts tail and you fly 1 min? When you were at 50s of the teardrop leg, you said you were before the turn, but you were at 18,5 DME, so past the point of the turn. You know better.

Good Day Capt Gabriele, many thanks for this Details explained Video... 👍👍 I have 2 question here.....1. On Video 20:25 stated from a Fix Odamo 15 Nm to a Fix BEG 18Nm IT takes 1 Minute for this teardrop entry, how to you calculate the time 1 Minute or IT Just a Standard value? 2. On Video 26:33 for 180 degree left turn IT take around 1 Minute and 10 sec, this time also a Standard value or we need to calculate it? Have a nice weekend Capt Gabriele... 👍👍
@PILOTCLIMB
@PILOTCLIMB 2 года назад
Hey, I hope you are great! The answer for both questions is YES, it is a standard value. If you perform a standard teardrop entry the outbound is 1 minute and if you perform a turn with a standard turn rate it will take you 1 minute to perform 180 degrees turn. Check this video regarding the standard turn rate I made: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c5pSQH_Vj4E.html

Hello Gabriel i just vant to say, that i realy appreciate Zibo job to modify the B737, but it is far away from PMDG regardles systems. It is out of way I know :) I m realy happy that somebody like you are making videos about real world procedures. Regardles company they are basicly similar. I m doing presentation for virtual airlene about what is the differences compared to real operations vs. filght sim and I whiss to be more like you in term of exlanation. Nice job continue. I recomended you to my coleagues from virtual aviation to watch your chanel. I need to coment this anyway :) I hope you understand. If you fly offset entry and the outbound leg is limited to a distance like the one in the video. Do you fly 30 dgr off until D18 or is it one minute either way?
@PILOTCLIMB
@PILOTCLIMB 2 года назад
Hey, great question. My understanding is that to enter a distance based holding you can still use the 1 minute time as long as you stay within the protected holding area. This is so, because you are performing a holding entry so you are not technically in the holding yet.

Great video Gabriele! I loved every second of it. The fun fact is, I also use the Morse Code trick to know if I'm on the right VOR, I have an app on my phone that tells me exactly the sound that every letter of the alphabet makes, then I compare it to the beeps that the 737-800 makes ☺. I also loved the holding patterns, I was going to ask you a video about the holding entry patterns (direct, parallel or teardrop) but you covered it on this video 😁. The only confusion I make is the bank angle on the PFD. I don't quite understand what my bank angle is, I usually understand better the pitch angle. Thanks captain, waiting for the next video about the approach and landing, have a great day 😘.

Hi Gabriele. Another great video!! Although you have great command of the English language, there is one phrase that you use in many of your videos that I'm having trouble understanding. At the very beginning of this video, you say "We're going to takeoff. We're going to perform _______ takeoff, _________ flight.
