In this video I compare Pilot Iroshizuku Inks that I have in my collection.
Inks in this Comparison:-
- Pilot Iroshizuku Fuyu-Gaki
- Pilot Iroshizuku Momiji
- Pilot Iroshizuku Ina-Ho
- Pilot Iroshizuku Tsukushi
- Pilot Iroshizuku Kiri-Same
- Pilot Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku
- Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo
The pen used in this ink comparison is the William Shakour Titan Dip Pen, it’s a pen made by a UK Pen Collector William Shakour. I have a review of several of William's Titan pens including the full size and dip pens along with other accessories. You can see them on this playlist • William Shakour

Ina-Ho is one of my favourite inks. A bit of hay and autumn! Lovely colour!

Kujaku looks lovely with shading and sheening

Oooh, Momiji is much more a pink-red than a magenta pink and thus something much more my taste. I like the two blues in this video too - I'm not one for teal normally but the saturation on Ku-Jaku is very appealing. Lastly, Kiri-Same is warmer than the other Iroshizuku grey, Fuyu-Syogun, which I have. Fuyu-Syogun has some nice shading imo, though it does like to feather on cheaper papers.

Same for me on Ku-Jaku! Don't like teals but that one is nice.

Ina-Ho's my favourite out of these I think. Very cool shading in the shift from super wet to dry

Other shimer-less gold colored inks I enjoy are Platinum Citrus Black and Noodler's Harold's Hearse. The Platinum stuff is an iron gall ink that goes down light but darkens to a nice shade.

Thank goodness for those 3x15ml packs they do. I'm in the Pilot ink camp more than the Sailor camp.

I’m not generally a fan of blue inks, but that tsuki-yo speaks to me.

Thanks again for a wonderful ink comparison video! I have the momiji and the ku-jaku and love them both! The ku-jaku is really, really pretty with a broad nib. I have to get a bottle of Ina-Ho now, what a great color!

These Iroshizuku reviews are really great. Thanks. I don't really seek sheen as it is not so common from a nib. What really want to see is shading. That's just my take.

Thanks for the review. Interesting to note that kiri-same could replace MB Oyster Grey as it has been discontinued.

I do like the Ku-Jaku. I'm not much for blue bordering on teal but that is nice.

I love your ink review video, especially it's on one of my favorite ink series - Pilot Iroshizuku. How many episodes you're planning to make on that? I'm so exiting of them! And~ thanks for your video!

It really depends on how much ink I can get from the brand, currently I've gone through most of my Pilot Iroshizuku bottles but there are a few more coming.

How Momiji compares to Yamabudo???

Momiji is a red, Yama-budo is more of a dark pink.

To get every Iroshizuku ink (in the UK) it would cost about £720! Ludicrously overpriced at least in my opinion, from my samples they perform just as well as my £2.25 per-bottle Diamine inks and all have fairly common colours and properties too. Are we only paying for a near perfect bottle and a nice Japanese name?
@PenultimateDave
@PenultimateDave 3 года назад
I have to say I do like a lot of the Iroshizuku inks but agree they are expensive. I won't buy any other brand that's a similar price to Iroshizuku because it is just way too expensive for ink.
@Crazytesseract

My question is: which shade of iroshizuku blue is closer (minus the sheen) to the standard Pilot blue ink (30 ml bottle / cartridge)? Is it between asa-gao and kon-peki?
@PenultimateDave
@PenultimateDave 3 года назад
Can't tell you as I don't have Pilot blue.
@Crazytesseract

@@PenultimateDave Thank you. Well I have pilot blue, but cannot afford (and don't need) iroshizuku! It appears to me between asa gao and kon peki. (But i am interested in and use fountain pens). Colours reproduced on displays can be inaccurate, so I can't say for sure. I checked the Pilot 2020 Japanese web catalogue too.
