Great video, love to see the pilot’s perspective in the D.VIII. Actually why not in all the planes flying at the aerodrome, the Spirit of Saint Louis would be an eye opener for sure!

Thanks for sharing the experience. I was at the show this past Sunday, great time.It's amazing how your pilots slip in the landings when the wind is out of the South. I'm a new RC pilot. I hope to fly at your RC Weekend event some day.

The Sopwith Pup looks like it was a good flying aircraft. The 80 H.P. LeRhone rotary engine appears to have been able to power the aircraft adequately. Looks like an overwing gun was used.If I'm not mistaken, many of these aircraft had a forward facing gun directly in front of the pilot instead of being positioned over the wing.

Fantastic video! As an aspiring Pup builder-pilot for several years this was a great insight into what it’s really like. What sort of clothing do the pilots wear for safety? I swear I saw shorts when he glanced down at the start!

You may have indeed seen shorts. Other than helmet and googles, we don't wear any special protective gear and for the air shows we wear appropriate costumes.

@@michaelfisher910 Thank you for that. I imagine it makes flying more comfortable during summertime than having to pull on a Nomex suit!
