Your right he was on the ball, I would have called dispatch (ship to shore) let them know the crews appreciation, he worked it fast for the captain and those are the guys you want on board for these types of long trips...A-plus trouble shooting....
+HermannManfredo - Bwaaaaaaaaa.....those poor "lower ranks"-people :-( Why do those "lower rank" people don´t just pull themselves together and become "upper rank" - if that is so easy and if you can earn a lot more if you´re "upper rank"? I´m not disrepecting the people you call "lower rank" but I just fell the urge to throw up when I read comments like yours
Yes, in case it re-occurs, maybe an indicator of other issues for that aircraft. Resetting a computer system does not always cure a fault elsewhere that has a mechanical action from a digital instruction or indeed software glitch of small code corruption.
It quite literally is, isn't it? I don't know aircraft tech but from what I got they tested if the error message was a actually related to an error and then just reset the fault memory. I can't recall how many times I've done that with cars 😅 Of course this is just my layman understanding. I would love to be corrected.
@@TheMasterMief more often than not the first thing you should try is to reset the sensor to make sure it's not a false reading. that goes for anything that involves using readings to control something else... if you see a measurement that doesn't look right, you can always refer to one fixed point and measure again through another path, by adding or subtracting other measurements. and if you don't trust that fixed point, that fixed point is on Earth... and Earth can be measured all the same. that's the basics of navigation, and it's been working for 5000 years, so if it works for sailors and pilots, it sure will work for anyone else taking measurements.

Dang.... The German language sounds precise, the crew exhibits high intelligence and teamwork, and music starting at 8 minutes. ... this is the best video on the web!
@@stevenhuckaby2902, the crash in Überlingen/Germany between 757 DHL and Tu-154 was a missunderstand between the russian Pilots and the flightcontrol/Tower. The russian Pilots speak all the time only russia and very bad english. They are learning to speak only russia in there flighttraining. Sorry, my english is not perfekt, i'm from Germany 😀
I don't to make his Job down, i bet he is very skilled! But, do you can't restart your own Computer out of your head? ... It's nothing soo special :D ... A few steps more.. OKAY
It’s reassuring to the pilot when they have tier 1 technicians that know the craft and avionics. These technicians and AMEs are really amazing at what they do as the knowledge they carry. I have a relative who is a manager Lines Maintenance Engineer for a large carrier. The man is a genius. Seriously.
When you add up all of the hours that planes spend flying and divide that by all of the aircraft incidents you realize just how important these folks are.
A very experienced and efficient crew. It's so nice to have an FO that is really on the ball. That really helps the Captain. Notice how she confirmed the taxi routing. The hardest part of the job sometimes is following complex taxi instructions.
Nice upgrade of MD-11 to glass panel cockpit, very nice.... I know it is promo video, but something very refreshing about the competency and professionalism of both the German pilots and technicians...
I just want to comment that the subtitles are absolutely on this channel are absolutely fabulous! They're not translating word-by-word, but transport the true meaning of what everyone is saying, and that's awesome to read every single time!
Absolutely fascinating! The amount of work that goes in, incredible; and i assume it's the same for commercial flights. we often just get a glimpse of the pilots when boarding but the attention to details, the checklist, the quick detection of failures is just remarkable. A truly challenging and interesting job!
Great video. That technician really knew his stuff. And an extra thank you for posting in the subtitles what terms likes NINTU and LERGA stand for. I love all the technical details. And, the first officer is really beautiful!
Just watched LH Cargo into Quito. Super stuff, including the pro interplay between crew. Surely a tough airport, including the altitude challenge. But beautifully done and a great vid.
Jepp - German Quality - awesome! I hope we here in the netherlands can do so in Future. Here the flight security is not perfect! But the germans ... Now i know why the LUFTHANSA is so expensive to fly with! Best Aircrafts with the best of modern Technology, best technical turn around Service, best Stewards and best Pilots and Co-Pilots. - All there are awesome. When you fly with the germans, you never must have any fear of flying. When they come down, then only securely and have a soft touchdown! - Clearance for Departure, Ready for Take-Off have a good flight!
German flight crews are all business all the time and as a former commercial pilot I don't say that lightly and always at full attention on the flight deck they deserve to be commended as they take pride in everything thing the do especially on the flight deck...
Not sure how I got to this video but it's fascinating to watch. It would be great if we had excellent technicians like this guy when calling a cable service for assistance. Awesome work Mr. Tech Guy!
You notice how many different radio frequencies they use in a short time ?. . This is why Europe is running out of spare channels and why EASA have authorised expansion to 8.33 Khz channel spacing to allow three times the channels in the same radio spectrum space. . 25 Khz at the moment, but changes are already being made. . that is going to cost a few million to put new radios into every aircraft - even Light aircraft !.
Another nice flight from Lufthansa. As An e-spectator, i much like the fact the German conversation is not suppressed. I don't speak German and I know it is a hard language to learn, but by listening to enough, along with the English accoapaniment and having watched a lot of flight videos, sitting here in the Greater Montreal, Quebec vicinity, where you can find easily some 80 or more languages in public in a day, I can eat this up nicely! So go for it!!
Everything about the Germans spells efficiency, it's so ingrained in their lives, an imperceptible difference between how they work and play. I like this videos; the accents remind me of growing up my grandfather who lived with us barely spoke English even though he lived here in the US for many years. As I recall he was very much the stereotypical German, his nature was precise and exact.
Always love the professionalism of these Lufthansa Pilots! And yes, hats off to that technician! That's a tech that has been around the aircraft a while and knew his stuff! Love it!
I WAS BORN IN NEUNKIRCHEN GERMANY LISTENING TO THESE PILOTS MAKES ME HOME SICK I LIVE IN SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA AND I SAY THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO VERY INTERESTING AND ENTERTAINING FOR ME
This is fascinating to watch. The interaction between Pilot and Co-Pilot is great. I look forward to the Co-Pilot sitting in the left hand seat. Plus I just love her voice. I could listen to her read the Frankfurt phone book for hours on end.
I'm german, and even though you are all so amazed, the translation was changing what the pilot said. The correct translation would be: That was a quite decent technician. However, if you consult national expression differences that might have been the right translation.
These videos just keep reinforcing my respect for Lufthansa and their pilots and technicians. No wonder they have such a sterling reputation. Also a good chance to practice my German and ability to follow conversation.
